Job Description

Position Title: Parts/Purchasing Agent

Location: Benicia, Ca

Pay rate: $25+ DOE

M-F: 8:00 am- 4:30pm

MetlSaw has been manufacturing equipment for industrial use since 1975 when we invented technology that combines high speed with precision cutting. We’ve been cutting steel since day one, giving MetlSaw the experience and focus that is unmatched by our competitors.

We are currently looking for a Parts/Purchasing Agent to join our family. This will be a hybrid position combining responsibilities of a purchasing agent along with parts sales and disposition. Knowledge of mechanical components and their applications if preferred.

Description:

• Responsible for arranging the purchase of goods and services using purchase orders.
• Examine quotes and purchase orders for accuracy.
• Ensuring materials are received according to timelines.
• Review staging lists and update delivery dates on overdue items.
• Conduct an annual price review on high use items limiting waste.
• Conduct a quarterly report reviewing open orders and updating status with vendors.
• Work with shop technicians to ensure the correct parts are ordered from the preferred vendors.
• Assist in development of policies and procedures pertaining to the purchase of goods or services.
• Work with Part Manager to identify outstanding quotes and contact customer regarding purchase.
• Review parts pricing and determine price point for part sales based on purchase price.
• Work with Sales Manager to set goals and deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Willing to train

Preferred:

• 2 years of purchasing experience
