Position Description

This position starts out Monday through Friday onsite and progresses to a hybrid position that is part on-site and WFH.

Coordinators are the organizational brains and cultural heartbeat of home support operations. To be successful in this position you must:

  • Be adept in dual monitor use, technology and a variety of web apps.
  • Be comfortable being on the phone for several hours each day.
  • Demonstrate initiative, adept problem solving and good decision making.
  • Care about the impact you have & communicate effectively.
  • Be an effective and proactive relationship manager - This position MUST be anticipating and meeting the needs and boundaries of our employees.
  • Have a room at home suitable for work use. This means a room with access to wired high speed internet and a door that can be closed to ensure professional communication.

Coordinator Proficiency

  • $26 Starting Coordinators are tasked with admin duties, receiving calls, learning same day and week home care scheduling, solving one-time scheduling challenges.
  • With demonstrated responsibility the position moves from working only onsite to a hybrid work-from-home position as a full member of the Coordination Team.
  • Additional pay steps are currently $28 & $30 per hour once demonstrating and then exceeding the position proficiency requirements.
  • Proficiencies include same and next day home care scheduling, pattern based scheduling, manage and oversee the ongoing allocation of hours and optimize logistics. Pattern based scheduling requires exceptional logic skills and attention to detail.
  • Coordinators are the operational supervisors who respond to all client & employee inquiries. This is a varied role with wide-ranging responsibilities. It is a good fit for friendly high energy individuals who enjoy solving problems.

Home care scheduling is complex and can be fast paced. It is not for everyone. If you do not ENJOY problem solving for staffing challenges which includes calling people under a time crunch. It is stressful but satisfying for people who enjoy it. It is stressful and demoralizing for people who do not.

Staffing and routing in another industry is not equivalent to proficiency in home care but individuals who become proficient quickly will be advanced and given more responsibility.

Wage & Benefit Details

  • Starting wage $26 per hour. The FT salary is $62-79k per year plus bonus.
  • Pay premiums for weekend work.
  • End-of-year bonus - In 2022, the average bonus for a full-time employee was over $1500.
  • Health & Dental - Benefits are available from 15h per week so that our senior and disabled part-time workers also have access.
  • Great Vacation - Up to 6 weeks of paid time off. Vacation earned increases faster, every full year worked.
  • Bonus Vacation - Earn a bonus week of vacation for good health & for our pensioners, total up to 8 weeks of paid time off.
  • RRSP contributions that increase with hours worked (starting 2024)
