The Ednetics Sales Engineer works in partnership with Account Managers to engage directly with Customers and drive increased sales. The core responsibilities of the role are to improve the effectiveness of sales interactions by bringing a deeper level of technical depth to the conversations as well as forge and maintain a technical relationship with Customers. Sales Engineers will act as a liaison between the Customer, Sales and the Business Units. They listen to Customer needs and bring forward proposed solutions utilizing products and services within the Ednetics portfolio. Additionally, Sales Engineers will work closely with and build collaborative relationships with manufacturer technical teams. This position is part of the Sales Department and reports to the Director of Sales.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Managers to provide technical assistance in qualifying and developing sales opportunities for key accounts.
  • Focus on technical relationship management, establishing personal rapport and trusted advisor status with strategic accounts.
  • Educate new customers on the breadth of solutions that Ednetics offers; gain customer acceptance of solutions by demonstrating technical, operational and financial benefits.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining Ednetics products and solutions.
  • Assist Account Managers in writing and delivering quotes, RFP responses, and other customer facing documents.
  • Engage with Ednetics and Partner technical resources to maintain current product and services knowledge.
  • Work closely with the Business Units to synchronize solution messaging, coordinating with Ednetics engineering and implementation experts where needed.
  • Coordinate with Business Units to create final designs, service estimates and scope of work documents for implementation proposals.
  • Provide on-going guidance to customers for promoting feature adoption and product lifecycle management.
  • Track and escalate resolution of customer technical support issues as needed.
  • Assist with creation of new sales strategies and identifying new products based on customer feedback.
  • Maintain relationships and collaborate with technical experts from manufacturer partners.
  • Maintain professional, product and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Pursue and maintain industry technical certifications.
  • Be available for on-site customer engagements as required. Home office opportunities may be available up to 70% of the time with this position.

Education and Experience

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree with an IT or business major is desired.
  • Five or more years of experience with technical sales or implementation required.
  • Professional experience with Cisco Systems products and services a must.
  • Experience in K-12, higher education, state and local government technology environments desired.

Technical Requirements

  • Familiarity with Cisco Systems products and other Ednetics portfolio required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Visio a must.
  • Experience both reading and creating technical drawings, diagrams and schematics.
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP/CRM systems desired.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Cisco, HPE, and other professional-level industry certifications are required; Cisco CCIE strongly desired.
  • Completion of additional industry sales certifications expected as part of job responsibilities.

Language Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are fundamental to this role.
  • Notable presentation skills in small and large audience settings required for success.

Travel

Regional travel at 30-60% overall is expected.
