Job Summary: The Sales Counselor is responsible for assisting the Director of Sales and Marketing in actively acquiring and managing short- and long-term leads. These responsibilities include handling telephone, walk-in and inbound mail inquiries; qualifying prospects, converting qualified leads to tours; converting tours to deposits; and, assisting with move-ins in accordance with established procedures. The Sales Counselor is also responsible for the smooth transition of a new resident to the community.

Essential Functions and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
· Ability to work flexible hours, such as early morning, evenings, weekends, holidays, and ability to assist in emergency situations.
· Assist in managing the sales process from first inquiry to eventual move-in.
· Ability to promotes the occupancy process through ongoing contact with a prospective resident via telephone, personal visits, tours, and home visit activities as appropriate.
· Ability to manages all information relating to the prospective resident/inquiry: communication with administration, communication with direct supervisor and accurate documentation of all contact in the tracking database.
· Assists with all other marketing efforts as directed by the Sales & Marketing Director.
· Collaborates with the prospective resident, family members and key influences to facilitate a timely and beneficial commitment to the community.
· Fully understands and articulately communicates all aspects of documents related to residency, including required admission documents, leases, etc.
· Is responsible for the professional handling of all incoming inquiries via telephone, email, or in person.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
· Highschool diploma/ GED Required.
· 1-2 years’ experience in comparable marketing environment is preferred; education or experience in marketing, public relations, promotions, or sales is desirable.
· Knowledge of senior living, Alzheimer's or a related dementia preferred.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
· This is a physically demanding job that could or does requires standing, moving, reaching, lifting, stretching, bending, and carrying things throughout the day.
· Position requires providing activities of daily living assistance to seniors and requires lifting and transferring or residents as appropriate.
· Must be able to lift, push, and/or pull 50lbs.
Knowledge and Skills:
· Ability to read and write comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
· Ability to communicate effectively in English with residents, family members and other associates
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
· Ability judgment in emergency situations and seeks assistance when needed.
· Ability to understand basic level of a skill and can follow written or verbal instructions.
· Ability to at times work flexible hours, such as early morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· Ability to work independently.
· Ability to assist in emergency situations.
· Ability to understand facility’s fire and disaster plans; follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies.
· Ability and desire to establish relationships and connections with prospective residents and their families.
· Basic technical skills to complete a few repetitive and well-defined duties.
· Basic knowledge of the organization in order to answer basic questions.
· Basic knowledgeable of federal, state, and facility’s rules, regulations, policies and
· procedures.
· Follow defined safety codes while performing all duties.
· Follow defined Infection Control procedures.
· Have strong interpersonal skills.
· Have strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and complete established sales/marketing goals in a timely manner
· Must have the ability to work independently and be a self-motivator.
· Must possess strong computer software skills, including Word.
Required Attendance:
· Attend scheduled department staff meetings.
· Attend in-service educational programs.
· Attend annual recertifications for state required license & certificates.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
