We are currently recruiting for a permanent, full time ASSOCIATION Sales Manager. This position has responsibility for developing new and existing accounts in order to achieve maximum revenue for the property. This position reports directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing and provides assistance and guidance to the Sales Coordinators and guests, while maintaining a calm and professional environment at all times.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Evaluate and qualify new and existing clients
· Create and source new business opportunities through cold calls and/or direct inquiries
· Create new prospects within existing accounts
· Conduct rate negotiations with senior buyers within general guidelines
· Perform site inspections and presentations for prospective clients
· Maintain awareness of the competition as well as knowledge of area attractions/features
· Build market share and increase REVPAR
· Maintain database of client/sales activities
· Detail monthly strategies and targeted initiatives
· Conduct competitive price shopping to ensure hotel positioning within defined market segments
· Participate in industry related associations or committees, and in house entertainment opportunities
· Attend trade/consumer shows
· Create and implement mailings and e-marketing programs
· Conduct client meetings and follow-up
· Other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing and/or General Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be legally authorized to work full time hours in Canada
-Must have a minimum of 3-4 years proven sales experience in a full-service Hotel environment, in the Association segment
·Must have strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize
·Must be able to clearly communicate in English in a professional manner
·Must be detail oriented, strong organization and problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task
·Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
· Must be able to achieve agreed upon sales targets
·Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment in an office setting
·Must have the ability to travel as required (domestic and international)
·Must have a valid driver’s license and use of an automobile
·Must be computer literate with MS office applications
*Experience with Opera, Lightspeed and Marriott’s CI/TY program an asset
