Job Description
J.D. Streett is seeking a full-time Sales Manager for our Lubricants & Antifreeze division. The position will perform duties required to generate leads and contact potential and current customers to promote J.D. Streett' s packaging capabilities and lubricant & antifreeze products. The position will also develop and implement marketing programs, as well as assist in development of product lines and price strategies.
Primary Functions and Areas of Responsibility:
- Maintain contact with current customers, communicating changes in labels, pricing, UPC codes, etc.; communicate policy and procedure changes within J. D Streett that affect them.
- Visit and communicate with current customers, making calls to communicate changes in pricing, policy and procedures, etc., to promote J.D. Streett lube and antifreeze products.
- Develop list of prospective customers by researching directories, consulting business associates, attending trade shows and observing business establishments while driving through sales territory.
- Call prospective customers to schedule appointments for presenting J. D. Streett's private label packaging capabilities and the Streett line of lube and antifreeze product lines to determine customer needs.
- Direct and coordinate the promotion, marketing plans and sale of private label lubricants, antifreeze products, and contract packaging, setting competitive prices, calling on current and potential customers to promote customer satisfaction and obtain new accounts.
- Respond to customer requests and inquiries, resolving problems or directing the development of products to meet their needs.
- Respond to incoming inquiries about J. D. Streett' s product line and provide requested information and follow up of inquiry.
- Participate in trade associations and trade and vendor shows to promote J.D. Streett products and services.
- Write product specification sheets to compare J.D. Streett products with competitors for use during sales calls.
- Track sales of J. D. Streett products to identify and solve possible problems and project financial performance.
- Participate in department meetings to be aware of plant schedules and provide customer updates to appropriate operations personnel to ensure customer needs are met.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Expertise in Sales and Marketing. Ability to apply the theory, principles and methods of basic sales and marketing techniques.
- Ability to deal with a variety of variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.
- Math aptitude with mastery of fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions and practical algebra to practical problems.
- Ability to read scientific and technical journals and financial reports.
- Ability to create and deliver presentations, business reports, and proposals.
- Use of Microsoft Office.
- Need to travel periodically, either via car or plane, to visit customers and prospects.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: College degree in related field (Engineering, Business, Marketing)
Experience: Minimum 5 years Sales experience in related industry, lubricants industry, and/or packaging industry experience preferred.
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
