ABOUT THE JOB:

We are looking for a Technical Outside Sales Engineer to replace a 20+ year sales-veteran in NE Indiana, including Allen, Dekalb, Steuben, Lagrange and Noble counties

As a Finch Technical Outside Salesperson, you would:

· Travel from your home-based office to manufacturing plants in your assigned territory, expanding business with existing customers and develop new business by researching and cold calling potential customers.

· Regular travel within your 1-hour radius territory to customers, utilizing mostly in-person sales calls, but also virtual meetings when appropriate. Home for supper, sleeping in your own bed 98% of the time.

· Learn your customers’ business goals and objectives, operating systems and manufacturing processes, in order to identify problem areas and become their trusted partner.

· Identify and build professional relationships with decision-makers.

· Collaborate with Inside Sales, technical and sales support internal resources, and Vendor reps to solve customers’ needs. For large projects you would act as “Project Manager” to make sure questions are answered and timelines stay on track.

· Review client activities weekly with Sales Manager, and strategize ways to maximize Sales quarterly

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:

  • High-level Mechanical skills required for success
  • B.S. in Engineering, Industrial Technology or Mechatronics preferred
  • OR Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing with a strong mechanical/technical aptitude
  • OR Associate’s degree in a related technical field with 3+ years job experience with a strong mechanical/technical aptitude
  • Applicable work experience may be substituted for a college degree
  • Factory Automation experience highly desired
  • Technical Sales experience highly desired
  • Manufacturing and/or robotics experience a plus
  • Salespeople must live in the stated territory. This is not a remote Sales job.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
