Overview
As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions for our clients. Your expertise will enable organizations to harness the full power of cloud technologies, driving innovation, scalability, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Solution Architecture and Design:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect cloud solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) based on client requirements.
  • Design resilient, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architectures.
  • The Cloud Engineer role will work closely with the other Engineers and client teams to design and implement the Cloud products and services.
  • The Engineer will also work with offshore colleagues to configure and deploy the various solutions.
  • As a member of the team, you will be responsible for solution development/support, monitoring/reporting, program governance, and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Hands on design and configuration of the Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure Cloud labs and client portals
  • Expressing configuration and development of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Providing Overall Azure expertise to the team and our clients
  • Potential Live Cloud Response in a Managed Services/Operations setting.
  • Helping leverage AI to automate and streamline activities.

Infrastructure Deployment and Management:
  • Deploy and configure cloud infrastructure components (virtual machines, containers, databases, etc.).
  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud resources for performance, security, and cost efficiency.
Cloud Migration and Modernization:
  • Lead cloud migration projects, ensuring seamless transition from on-premises to cloud environments.
  • Refactor legacy applications for cloud-native deployment.
  • Implement DevOps practices for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
Security and Compliance:
  • Implement robust security controls, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and best practices.
  • Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans.
Automation and Orchestration:
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
  • Orchestrate workflows using tools like Kubernetes, Jenkins, or Ansible.
Collaboration and Client Engagement:
  • Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during project execution.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including executives, project managers, and development teams.
  • Collaborate with other technical teams to integrate solutions seamlessly.
  • Participate in scrum calls and agile ceremonies, and effectively communicate work progress, issues and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with client facing teams to understand solution context and contribute in technical requirement gathering and analysis.
  • Work with technical architects on the team to validate design and implementation approach.

Continuous Learning and Innovation:
  • Stay abreast of cloud industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Pursue relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect).
  • Contribute to thought leadership within the organization.
Mentorship and Coaching:
  • Mentor junior Cloud Engineers, fostering their growth and skill development.
Education / Skills / Experience
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Certifications: Preferred certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Skills:
  • You should have a deep understanding of the Azure platform, services, and features, such as Azure Compute, Azure Storage, and Azure Networking. Knowledge about implementing, managing, and monitoring identity, governance, and compliance features in Azure is also beneficial
  • Programming Skills: You will often need to write scripts to automate tasks, so proficiency in a programming language such as Python, JavaScript or PowerShell is essential
  • Cloud Security – you need to be knowledgeable about protecting information and systems in the cloud. This can include understanding how to configure security protocols, manage security services, and adhere to compliance regulations within the Azure environment
  • DevOps Practices: Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools like Azure DevOps, Github, Jenkins, Chef, and Puppet can be vital as Azure engineers often work in environments that follow DevOps practices. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) also forms an important part of this skill set.
  • Networking: Understanding networking principles and protocols, like TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, VPNs, and routing, is crucial. Azure engineers often design and implement cloud networking solutions within Azure
  • Ability to travel to other offices or client locations as needed.
  • Strong communication skills
Experience:
  • 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, or related roles.
  • Proficiency in at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing.
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
