Position Overview:
The Sales Engineer will work closely with the Account Manager (formerly Business
Development Manager) to develop and maintain strong relationships with new and
existing customers. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and interpersonal
skills, as you’ll be responsible for understanding customer needs, providing technical
consultation, and ensuring our manufacturing capabilities align with their requirements.
You will be instrumental in growing the business by engaging directly with customers,
both over the phone and in person, to build trust and ensure long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
● Customer Engagement: Initiate and maintain conversations with customers,
both current and prospective, to understand their needs and propose technical
solutions. Build strong, trust-based relationships through effective communication
in person, via phone, and email.
● Technical Consultation: Serve as the primary technical resource for customers,
translating their needs into feasible machining solutions that meet technical and
budgetary requirements.
● Solution Development: Collaborate with the production and engineering teams
to develop tailored solutions for customer projects.
● Quoting & Estimations: Provide detailed technical input to support accurate job
estimates, including materials, timelines, and production resources.
● Collaborative Sales Development: Work hand-in-hand with the Account
Manager to develop and strengthen relationships with new and existing
customers, aligning technical solutions with overall business objectives.
● Process Improvement: Partner with internal teams to standardize and improve
quoting, estimating, and production processes, focusing on efficiency and
customer satisfaction.
● Industry Knowledge: Keep up-to-date with CNC machining advancements and
industry trends to ensure that Machine Time’s offerings remain competitive and
cutting-edge.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical
field.
● 2+ years of experience in a technical sales, engineering, or manufacturing role,
with CNC machining experience preferred.
● Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly CNC machining,
and the ability to explain these processes to both technical and non-technical
audiences.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to hold
meaningful conversations that build and strengthen customer relationships.
● Proven experience in quoting and estimating jobs in a machining or
manufacturing environment.
● Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and the Account Manager to
ensure seamless customer experiences.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software; experience with JobBOSS2
and/or QuickBooks Online is a plus.
● Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Knowledge of ITAR, AS9100, or similar regulatory frameworks.
● Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems for tracking sales processes and
managing customer data.
● Experience working in growing businesses or startups.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
