Job Description
Regional Sales Engineer
- Work with dealerships and customers to help configure new truck specifications.
- Support end-to-end quotation and order flow, as required, with internal departments.
- Develop a deep understanding of regional truck configurations and offering.
- Use order board and various engineering data help establish technical feasibility.
- Attend truck shows, company events and dealer meetings as required.
- Handle customer inquiries on the Sales Engineering 1-800 line on a periodic reoccurring basis.
- Manage tasks, and other duties assigned by Sales Engineering Manager.
- Teamwork: Building cooperation among individuals and departments, sharing information and resources, and working to achieve group goals and outcomes within Sales Engineering.
- Communication: Listening effectively, transmitting information accurately and understandably, and actively seeking feedback.
- Customer Focus: Understanding and best meeting the needs of customers by addressing the interests and concerns of all organizational stakeholders.
- Influence: Building strong work relationships and adjusting to how individuals, organizational units, and culture function and react.
- Product Knowledge: Must have good degree of Mack product knowledge and be able to effectively communicate with both external and internal disciplines.
- Action Oriented: Not fearful of acting and is comfortable in a role empowered to make decisions and take reasonable and manageable risks.
- Time Management: Can deal with a broader range of activities, uses time effectively and efficiently, concentrates on the more important priorities.
- Degree in an Engineering discipline with Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Competence in the commercial vehicle industry, applications, components, and customers.
- Knowledgeable and comfortable with Mack Trucks/Volvo Group systems, processes, and tools preferred.
- Previous/Current Mack Trucks Sales or Customer Engineering experience is a plus.
- Truck Marketing Institute (TMI) certificate preferred but not required.
- CDL is preferred but not required.
