Location:

This full-time position is based at Downey’s Home Hardware at 1106 Cleveland Ave, Riverview, New Brunswick.

Job Description:

The Door Plant Production Apprentice helps with the production of custom doors. The assembly of pre-hung wood doors.

Responsibilities:

o Prepare materials to begin production process (slabs, door jambs, hardware).

o Willingness to assemble wood components to create a Pre-Hung door.

o High standards for finish work.

o Work with technical equipment to prepare doors for assembly.

o Work closely as a team.

o Comfortable working with hand tools and power tools.

Skills and Qualifications:

• High School graduation or equivalent.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, employees, and delivery personnel.
• Ability to read and comprehend production details on the order form.
• Must have basic knowledge of carpentry.
• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to work co-operatively in a fast-paced team environment.

o Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to move merchandise weighing up to 30-50 pounds from the receiving area to the warehouse and place it on shelves.

Working relationships

o Reports directly to Sales Manager for LBM.
