Job Description
Summary/ObjectiveAs Director of Sales and Marketing, your primary responsibility is to develop and foster hotel business through direct sales, marketing, telemarketing, and tours of hotel. This is an advanced level position, soliciting of new and maintenance of existing transient, group and corporate markets. The Director of Sales is responsible for all sales/marketing and advertising tasks, public relations and administrative reporting.
Essential Functions
Maintain a complete knowledge of all the services the hotel provides so as to conduct successful sales
Oversee the management of client accounts
Closely monitor the hotels business reports on a daily, weekly basis and take decisions accordingly
Understand and how to use Delphi, Salesforce, STS, travel click
Respond To QA / BSA Sales Requirements to ensure continual improvement is achieved and property passes per Brand Standards Audit
Ensure the safety of our guest’s, property, assets and never open any door for Guest’s who forgot their key (Redirect them to the Front Desk)
In addition, we look for the demonstration of the following key attributes:
Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times.
Develop a Sales Plan by gathering historical and competitive data, then setting goals and determining action plans to meet those goals.
Develop new business through obtaining accounts from competition, lateral development of existing accounts and contacting new customers in the market. The solicitation of new and saturation of existing business should be through a combination of in-house appointments, telephone, and personal calls.
Entertain and maintain close relations with the major accounts, tourism and business associations, and community leaders to develop positive rapport and ensure repeat business.
Prepare and interpret weekly and month end reports. Monitor and analyze trends so we are always prepared and proactive to changes rather than re-active. Know your competitors business and ensure hotel is receiving its fair share.
Suggest and provide advertising or promotional support, holiday packages, corporate clubs, weddings, etc.
Attend any brand required training as well as other meetings requested by the Vice President and General Manager.
Inform the Vice President and General Manager of potential opportunities/concerns with clients and progress of special projects.
Monitor room inventory and rate programs be knowledgeable of occupancy, average rate, and REVPAR goals.
Supervisory Responsibility
None. Reports to corporate regional director of sales and revenue and daily communication with GM
Work Environment
This job operates in a hotel / public environment. This role routinely uses standard equipment, calculator, scanner, chip reader (credit card machine), computer systems, point of sale system, laptop and other office equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time salary position with occasional weekend work.
Travel
Some travel needed for outside sales calls and brand certification.
Required Education and Experience
Minimum two-year college degree, or Hospitality Certification plus 3 years previous sales manager experience in the hotel industry.
