Director of Sales Operations

Role Description: Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be analytical, meticulous, and highly organized with a record of success. This role will lead external sales and internal sales administration teams, with responsibility for all revenue generating activities. Ideally, you should have strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills with a commercial sales background, customer-facing experience, and depth leading business development and sales operations teams.
Strategic Sales Planning: Develop comprehensive sales growth plans tailored to target customers. Utilize market research and analysis to identify opportunities and formulate effective strategies. Regularly assess progress towards sales targets and adjust plans as needed.
Customer Relationship Management: Implement and maintain a structured program of regular customer contact. Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. Act as a primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
Price Management: Set and negotiate competitive prices for customers and product programs. Collaborate with internal teams to develop pricing strategies that maximize profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
Promotional Planning: Develop and execute promotional and sales incentive plans tailored to key customers. Leverage insights from market research and competitive analysis to design compelling promotions that drive customer engagement and sales growth.
Prospect Identification: Proactively identify and pursue sales prospects to expand the active customer base. Utilize various channels, including cold calling, networking events, and industry conferences, to identify potential leads and opportunities.
Accounts Receivable Management: Assist the Accounting department in collecting receivables from customers. Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up with customers to ensure timely payment.
Competitive Intelligence: Gather and analyze competitive information to inform strategic decision-making. Provide insights and recommendations to the Marketing team to support new product development initiatives and pricing strategies.
Issue Resolution: Serve as a resource for customers in resolving high-level problems and issues. Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales, Customer Service, and Operations, to address customer concerns and negotiate discounts or claims when necessary.
Data Collection and Reporting: Support Management in collecting timely information on product performance and customer feedback. Compile and analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Provide regular reports and updates to management to facilitate informed decision-making.
Note: Other duties may be assigned as needed to support the overall objectives of the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field preferred but not required. Real world experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Proven track record of success in sales or business development roles.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $180,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
