JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for advanced market and product research for flexible sensors. Focus on creation by identifying and developing specific applications with new technology in a new market segment. Responsibilities include assessing and verifying the potential market and assessing the opportunity from the perspective of fit with the company’s core competencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES (KEY ACCOUTABILITIES):
The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provides the industry vision necessary to identify market and technology trends. This includes staying abreast of new industry trends and technologies to spot opportunities.
- Identifies, develops and evaluates market strategy. Uses sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products.
- Develops and executes product marketing plans that achieve business objectives and marketing goals.
- Collaborates with key participants in each of the internal organizations involved in the decision process to drive the internal processes required to fully assess the opportunity. Understands the fit with the core competencies of the company. Finalizes the business plan and achieves buy-in within each internal organizational group.
- Collects data, analyzes business developments and monitors market trends. Regularly reports to senior management to apprise them of findings and activities.
- Investigates business potential for new products and technologies and reports finding to management.
- Works closely with customer analyzing application needs. Communicates application needs to R&D Department of HQ in Japan. Coordinates development of products to meet customer’s need. Makes recommendations to customers based on feedback from R&D.
- Handles special projects as requested by Manager.
MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Required:
- Master’s degree in Marketing Research preferred
- 5 or more years experience in business development and new product marketing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Fluency in English and Japanese is required.
- Experience in Japanese companies is preferred.
