What You’ll Be Doing:

QUALITY ASSURANCE:

  • Ensure Quality Control measures are being implemented and comply with all internal and external (government & food safety) regulations.
  • Ensure all packaging and labeling requirements are complying within the country they are being sold and/or imported, exported to
  • Ensure all supplier and customer documentation is organized, accurate, up to date, and valid. Create and convert on to Marsia letterheads as needed.
  • Ensure all customer portals are up to date and maintained regularly (ie: TraceGain, TraQtion, Supply Line, SedEx.) and diligently support documentation required by customers for all food ingredients supplied by Marsia Foods.
  • Receive, prepare, and manage timely resolution of all non-compliance reports by working with all relevant internal and external parties.
  • Ensure full transparency and communication to Management of any non-conformities identified.
  • Create, generate, and maintain new SOP’s and policies that comply to HACCP, BRC, SQF, CFIA, USDA and FDA requirements.
  • Manage and renew all existing Marsia certifications such as Organic (ECOCERT), Kosher, and CFIA Inspection Modernization Program.
  • Facilitate regulatory, third party and customer audit paperwork as required.
  • Responsible for all inbound inspections across North America to ensure quality and packaging assurance. Conduct onsite inspections within the GTA as needed during product arrival to ensure quality and packaging compliance.
  • Some travel may be required outside of the GTA to meet with clients and/or suppliers to review major non-compliance reports and onsite audits.
  • Maintain quality inspection records and samples.
  • Maintain and approve 3PL and carriers according to our food safety and allergen policy
  • Conduct annual audits of 3PLs ensuring you review their certifications and audit records.
  • Other various duties as they arise.

TRADE COORDINATOR:

  • Work closely with appropriate stakeholders and departments to ensure timely review and approval of suppliers, CFIA/USDA/FDA regulatory compliance and quality control documents are completed prior to all new purchases.
  • Work closely with appropriate stakeholders and departments to ensure timely customer product & manufacturer approvals (i.e., Completing paperwork, filling forms), as well as coordinating with finance to set up new customers and vendors in ERP system.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain and Finance team to determine all import laws, applicable tariffs and or duties to assist the procurement and sales team in costing
  • Be the link between the Sales Team and Back Office (Finance, Operations) by coordinating paperwork.
  • Assist with sourcing activities and the expansion of the sales team’s portfolios (ie. approving new suppliers, receiving & approving samples, providing open and honest feedback to Sales).
  • Manage & maintain sample database.
  • Prepare samples and ensure all packaging and labels are as per Marsia’s approved protocols. Meet all required shipping deadlines.
  • Support with Trade Show research, organization, and planning
  • Support with sales data collection i.e., CRM implementation and Vendor/Customer score cards
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure sales, marketing, queries, and deliveries are handled efficiently.
  • Other various duties as they arise.

What you need:

  • 1-3 years Quality Assurance experience.
  • Post-secondary education or college diploma in Food Science or related field
  • Knowledge of food safety and manufacturing, GFSI, HACCP, BRC and GMP is necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook, with intermediate skill in Excel
  • Proficient in data entry and data management with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.
  • Ability to use critical thinking.
  • Problem-solving skills resulting in sound business solutions.
  • Customer service skills
  • SAGE 300 experience is an asset.
  • TraceGain, TraQtion, Supply Line and SedEx experience is an asset.
  • Results oriented with demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $52,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
