Position Summary:

The Network Engineer position is accountable for ensuring quality installation and configuration of all networking products and services provided by PCS, by using industry best practices.

Key results areas

1 - Implements assigned projects and tasks

· Lead networking projects, typically layer 2 devices, and configure all equipment which can include: switches, wireless access points, wireless controllers.

· Lead networking projects that can include layer 3 switches with static or OSPF routing, firewalls and Network Access Control appliances

· Work with Solutions Architect, Account Representatives and Project Manager to ensure the project is completed in the timeframe and to the expectations relayed to the client

· Document configuration to provide to the support team

· Provide some training to IT staff at client locations

2 - Assists in the sales and solution development process

· Fast response time, professional demeanor, follows through on tasks, excellent communication, ensures client satisfaction

3 - Goes above and beyond in client service

Required Knowledge, skills and abilities

· Critical thinking skills

· Occasional overnight travel within Tennessee is required

· Must be a self-starter and excel at thinking on your feet and under pressure

· Must be able to think outside the box to resolve issues that occur

· Must be able to troubleshoot using the OSI model

· Advanced research skills

· Must have and continually exhibit excellent communication skills

· Must have and continually exhibit excellent teamwork skills

· Must be able to lift 75 pounds, climb a ladder, use a hydraulic lift, and use power tools on a regular basis

Position qualifications

· A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technology related field

· Experience in Desktop and Server Operating Systems required

· A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in implementing and supporting Microsoft Active Directory

· Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record

· Must pass a TBI background check

· Experience in networking layer 2 and 3 required

· Experience deploying and using virtualization technologies required

· Experience in wireless technologies required

· Firewall experience preferred

· Packet capture, both wired and wireless, preferred

· 802.1X experience preferred

· Preferred Industry Certifications:

o Cisco CCNA Route & Switch

o Aruba: ACMA, ACSA, ACCA

o CWNP: CWNA

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
