Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Director of Sales to join our top 100 independent insurance brokerage and risk advisory firm. This key leadership role offers a unique opportunity to help shape and drive meaningful growth within our commercial insurance division by leading and mentoring the next generation of risk advisors.
As the Director of Sales, you will be at the forefront of developing emerging producers, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the competitive insurance landscape. Your guidance will be key in helping them build their book of business and develop their “major and minor.” You will also work collaboratively with our recruitment team to attract and hire top talent, leveraging your industry connections to network with experienced sales talent from both within, and outside of, the insurance industry.
Requirements:Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with each teammate to set annual/quarterly sales goals.
- Utilize Salesforce/CRM to understand producer activity and sales performance.
- Establish performance metrics and set quarterly objectives for each teammate.
- Establish annual goals for learning development.
- Conduct weekly 1-on-1 sales huddles with each teammate.
Training and Development:
- Collaborate with the Director of Training and Development to create and implement a learning and career development program for each teammate.
- Ensure consistent use of the CRM by producers for effective pipeline management.
- Conduct quarterly meetings with your team to ensure their learning, career development, performance, and training are progressing as planned.
Staffing Advancement:
- Partner with the Recruiter to identify, attract, and hire top-quality Producers/risk advisors.
- Collaborate with the Director of Business Development, Hiring Managers, Senior Leadership, and Industry Practice Leaders to make hiring decisions.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations in collaboration with Industry Practice Leaders, providing regular feedback and mentoring.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the insurance industry.
- Proven track record of sales success and team leadership.
- Strong understanding of the commercial insurance market and industry trends.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., EPIC or Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel as needed.
