The Holiday Inn Laval Montréal is a vibrant, modern hotel perfectly situated in the heart of Laval. The Holiday Inn Laval Montréal is currently undergoing a transformative journey, with extensive enhancements to its guest rooms, public spaces, dining venues, and meeting spaces. These upgrades aim to elevate the guest experience while maintaining the warm and welcoming ambiance that defines our brand. We are seeking an innovative and results-driven Director of Sales & Marketing to lead our repositioning efforts and spearhead impactful sales and marketing strategies to ensure continued success.
THE ROLE:
The Director of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales and marketing strategies that align with the resort's vision and goals. This role is vital in leading our team in driving revenue growth, enhancing brand visibility, and attracting new clientele during our transformative journey and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement innovative sales and marketing plans to drive occupancy and revenue across all hotel offerings and services.
- Brand Management: Ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels, aligning with the IHG standards and the Holiday Inn characteristics. Liaise with IHG Brand to leverage and maximize available resources
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, competitive positioning, and customer preferences, using insights to inform strategic decisions.
- Digital Marketing: Oversee digital marketing initiatives, including social media, email campaigns, and website content, to enhance online presence and engagement.
- Partnership Development: Foster relationships with relevant businesses, tourism organizations, and influencers to expand outreach and drive referrals.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyze sales and marketing performance metrics, adjusting strategies to optimize results and achieve revenue targets.
ACTIVITIES:
The duties of the Director of Sales & Marketing include, but are not limited to the following:
- Strategist for Sales, Marketing and Profitability Initiatives;
- Develop and implement a sales & marketing plan and budget to achieve established sales objectives;
- Manage turnover and work in parallel with the General Manager and revenue manager to maximize sales and profits and establish a pricing and selling price strategy;
- Provide the team with resources, training, coaching and moral support to do a good job and achieve assigned goals. Provide orientation and ongoing development support, ensuring that training programs are consistent with individual career goals;
- Coach and energize the sales force in order to create a sales culture within a team of competent, efficient and united members who want to maximize their abilities;
- Act as a coach who is able to challenge and empower the team in revenue growth;
- Actively acquire new business and maintain existing accounts through prospecting, planned sales calls, and solicitation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to generate transient and group business for room and event sales.
- Responsible for daily tasks related to prospecting accounts, account development, and site inspections.
- Participate in internal and external business activities and lead the managers of the different market segments;
- Implement IHG Sales & marketing programs. Maximize regional and national resources while taking responsibility for the results of the hotel;
- Provide overall hotel marketing leadership with revenue generation initiatives and revenue generation initiatives and ROI controls;
- Establish public relations links in the various markets and ensure the representation of the hotel in the feeder markets through partnerships and participation in events in order to keep the hotel at the top of the list;
- Ensures teamwork with department heads as a sales and marketing specialist. Maintain open communication with regional, national and corporate teams;
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required;
- Assume responsibility for other tasks as required.
COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:
· Bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration or Business preferred.
· Minimum 5 years of sales experience.
· IHG Brand Experience an asset
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, FRENCH/ENGLISH
· computer literacy
· Ability to inspire, lead and develop a team by example.
· Act as owner of the hotel and communicate a clear sense of strategy and purpose.
· Well organized, detail oriented with excellent follow-up.
· Ability to convert vision into specific and tangible actions to benefit the hotel.
· Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.
· Ability to adapt rapidly to evolving market dynamics and needs.
