Job Description
The Sr Business Development Subject Matter Expert is responsible for partnering with RRD Sales to enhance their abilities and efforts to identify growth opportunities with existing clients. This is accomplished by leveraging platform knowledge, problem-solving, competitive research, and an understanding of customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Establishes plans and executes strategic activities and projects that directly support the implementation and optimization of efforts to grow segment-specific sales, revenue, profit, and market share.
- Researches, identifies and selects best practices to improve the effectiveness of coverage in the marketplace and meet the unique needs of defined customer/business segments.
- Has primary responsibility for identifying and developing opportunities for business expansion.
- Develops strategies in collaboration with the marketing team to promote long-range business plans.
- Will support and influence management to provide additional training to meet market objectives.
- Identifies, recommends, and develops new initiatives and partnerships.
- Lead and partner with subject matter experts to develop proposal responses and program solutions.
- Lead productive business meetings with clients to uncover areas of improvement.
- Forecast customer demands to operations and participate in sales and operational planning.
- Anticipates customer needs and takes proactive steps to identify new revenue opportunities.
- Adapts selling techniques and the sales process to achieve the sale.
- Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
Qualifications
Skills and Certifications
- 4 Year Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field with 5+ years of sales experience prospecting new business as well as maintaining account relationships for existing business.
- A high degree of creativity, innovation, analytical skills, organizational skills, and self-direction in completing highly complex and diverse assignments.
- Able to successfully integrate both communication and problem-solving skills at an advanced level.
- Must be able to communicate highly complex scenarios with exceptional clarity and precision when presenting analysis or solutions to all levels within the organization.
- Proven experience in developing and executing sales plans through self and others.
- Requires developed sales expertise across a defined portfolio of products/ services/accounts; applies expertise in a complex sales environment.
- Has a solid understanding of business, financials, products/services, and the market; may help develop colleagues’ understanding; may be recognized as an expert in one area.
- Demonstrated experience in sales account management and profitable growth.
- Understands emerging market trends and interdependencies impacting customers; leverages understanding to expand relationships with existing customers.
- Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
- Proficiency with MS Office software products.
Additional Information
The national pay range for this role is $52,500 to $93,400 / year. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
