Job Description

The Channel Development Manager is responsible for delivering on the financial and strategic objectives for the Independent Dealer while maintaining high-quality relationships with 5.11 accounts and internal company personnel in a consistent and professional manner. This role will focus on key categories such as apparel, footwear, workwear and others as they align with the brand and strategy. This leader will own the development and implementation of sales, channel strategy, forecasting and strategic curated assortments for their target accounts. The Channel Development Manager manages, grooms, and pursues new opportunities of business with Key Strategic Independent dealer partners with a focus on internal and external KPI metrics and numbers merchandising.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drives revenue, new season item adoption, and growth of targeted accounts that represent a growth opportunity due to their unique position in the marketplace.
  • Pursuit of new: Creates opportunities and partnerships from the ground up. Developing business plan in greenfield channels and with new best in class accounts.
  • Works with partner.com business to elevate 5.11 performance in key digital metrics, average order value, conversion rate, UPT, and fill rate.
  • Works with Wholesale Merchandising and Marketing (visual merchandising) to curate assortments and stories tailored to have maximum impact with key strategic independent partners.
  • Facilitates the selling in and creation of programs that delivers to 5.11 and key strategic partners KPI requirements.
  • Executes account on-boarding process in alignment with cross functional partners
  • Builds strong relationships with key strategic partners creating alignment on shared goals and performance expectations.
  • Owns seasonal buying programs with partnership of Wholesale Merchandiser to validate assortments and expand presence. Continuously seeks to enhance or expand shop in shop presence in new and/or existing accounts.
  • Forecasts for accounts based on assumptive sell in, rate of sale, and replenishment needs.
  • Creates alignment with Executives of Field Independents to create shared revenue and assortment placement that elevates Field Independent stakeholders’ performance and holds them accountable.
  • Works in alignment with 5.11 Buy Group Manager to evaluate opportunity and accelerate business with key independent partners.
  • Expands growth, pursuant of new within Work/Farm & Home, Field Independent, K9 and Fitness accounts opportunities
  • Forecasts for shop in shop fixture needs and product, while managing fixture forecasts.
  • Works with Product Development and the wholesale merchandiser on SMU design opportunities that are tailed to the needs of key channel partners.
  • Partners with Sales Operations for seamless and continuous account onboarding. Fully understands account requirements and how to navigate them through internal departments.
  • Utilize CRM to illustrate account pipeline and incremental account opportunities.
  • Travel for GTM, pursuit of new account and channel business, shop in shop build outs, and market visits as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should have the following credentials:


  • Completion of a professional sales or sales management-training program is highly desired.
  • Minimum 5+ years sequential professional sales experience required. This includes personal selling of commercial products or services to organizations.
  • Must be proficient in time management, account management, scheduling and planning, personal and electronic presentations, numbers merchandising, and assortment planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills required. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and clearly via letter, e-mail or verbally in meetings with individuals or groups
  • Proven ability to innovate, launch new programs, and strategies.
  • Must be able to present complex and detailed information in a wide variety of field and customer settings.
  • Strategic mindset with proven ability to track and sustain growth initiatives
  • Well-organized and with high attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills required. Proficient in Windows (XP or later) or Macintosh operating system. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and common CRM programs, PowerBI reporting, and B2B platforms.
  • Skill levels in common software will be evaluated during interview process. Experience with CRM software, data management and reporting is essential.

Pay Range: $90,000 - $110,000 plus bonus based on experience
