Job Description

JOB TITLE: Senior Director, D365 Solutions

Wineshipping is a tech-enabled third-party logistics (3PL) provider for alcoholic beverage companies, managing the fastest, most accurate, and most cost-efficient delivery network in the US for wine, beer, spirits, and more. North Bay Business Journal’s Supplier of the Year (Wine Beer & Spirits Awards), and most recently “Best Place to Work” by Best of Napa County Magazine.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

This role evaluates the capability and functionality of Wineshipping’s Warehouse Management and Financial System, Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365 SCM and F&O). As the requirements of the business and our clients change, the Sr. Director, D365 Solutions, will design the practical solutions for these challenges. This is not a troubleshooting and “fixing” role, but an expert that understands the dependencies and how the system output is used across the business (inventory, order processing, exceptions, billing, etc.). The Sr. Director, D365 Solutions, is a leader for the professionals that support the WMS.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Wineshipping is distinguished from our competitors by great leadership. You work in service to the business and your team, not tolerating underperformance or letting things go because “that’s the way we’ve always done it.”
  • With your experience, you will identify areas of opportunity for improvement, through system changes or without system changes, or accomplished through process enhancements.
  • You will help to make great leaders for the future by assigning work appropriately, challenging your high-potential team members and empowering them to overcome challenges.
  • As you are leading a team and supporting a core business capability system, you will develop and follow the budget for getting this work done and manage the vendors we bring on to support us, including Microsoft.
  • As the architect of our WMS, you will consider availability during periods of heavy system use and as we experience exceptions, always considering the scalability of the system as our business grows and becomes diversified. Own it. Make it what it needs to be.
  • The Director, D365 Solutions is the leader of the “laboratory”, testing new capabilities, features, user experiences and visualization, all while ensuring solid data integrity.
  • While there will be others to do the troubleshooting, you will estimate and triage high-level requirements, making sure our future state is one that serves the business.
  • You will work with non-IT stakeholders to understand their unique needs and help them draft requirements. Through that partnership and understanding, you will educate the designers and developers of the system so they can get it right the first time.
  • Part of a great system design and execution is useful documentation. The Director, D365 Solutions is the accountable person when it comes to functional specifications, functional design documents, business requirements, user stories, implementation solution maps; and other documentation deliverables depending on the situation and the need.
  • Once the system works and the documentation is where it needs to be, the next step is making sure users and administrators of the system are trained in how to use it. You will be directly involved in that process, as well as validating that process to make sure it yields a reliable result.
  • Other things will come up from time to time, and we will talk about how you will be involved in them. We like to keep things interesting.

OTHER THINGS ABOUT THE ROLE THAT MATTER

  • Commitment to excellence and high standards. We deserve what we tolerate. Do not tolerate what you should not.
  • This role will work within the IT function as well as with cross-functional teams from other departments. It helps a lot to understand what they do and what is important to them. Be curious.
  • Our business and the industry we serve change all the time. Don’t be surprised when priorities change, and we need to pivot.
  • You will need to be in the details.
  • Speak and write clearly so the business understands your expectations and directions.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

  • ERP Experience with D365 F&O Trade and Logistics and at least one other D365 F&O module (Microsoft LCS or Microsoft Sure Step Certification)
  • A proven record of success as a Functional Solutions Architect, leading efforts in consulting, designing, and implementing D365 applications-based solutions including Microsoft Azure DevOps
  • Strong leadership experience. You need to know how teams are led to create an atmosphere of trust, seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation, answering questions, and providing direction to less-experienced staff, and coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback.
  • Non-governmental business sector experience preferred.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Travel on an as needed basis (not expected to exceed once per quarter given the current scope but subject to change).
  • Prolonged periods of standing/walking/sitting.
  • Occasionally lift, carry and/or move up to 50lbs.
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.

PAY AND BENEFITS

Benefits: 401(k) with match, Health insurance, Dental insurance, Vision insurance, Disability insurance, Employee Assistance Program (mental health is important!), flexible spending account for healthcare, health savings account, life insurance, unlimited paid time off, Referral program, and sometimes we hand out free wine (subject to our policies and internal controls – it’s not a free for all).

Supplemental Pay: Bonus pay

We are an equal opportunity employer and we truly value diversity in our company. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability status or marital status. All are welcome to join and thrive at Wineshipping!
