Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Sales to lead our sales efforts at SpringHill Suites in Raleigh Apex. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing strategic sales plans, and fostering relationships within the hospitality industry. This position requires a deep understanding of Marriott standards and the hospitality market to ensure exceptional guest experiences and achieve financial targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development: Create and implement strategic sales plans to achieve hotel revenue goals while maximizing occupancy and average daily rate (ADR).
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and potential business opportunities. Utilize insights to refine sales strategies.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to exceed sales targets. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages professional development and high performance.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and local businesses. Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
- Sales Reporting: Analyze and report on sales performance metrics, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet objectives. Prepare regular updates for senior management.
- Collaboration with Operations: Work closely with the hotel operations team to ensure seamless execution of events and guest services, maintaining Marriott’s high standards of hospitality.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the sales budget, ensuring alignment with overall hotel financial goals. Monitor expenditures and adjust plans to optimize profitability.
- Training and Development: Conduct regular training sessions for the sales team on Marriott standards, industry best practices, and effective sales techniques.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- Experienced in using Marriott Systems like FOSSE, Salesforce, etc.
- Prior experience in a leadership role, preferably in a hotel environment.
- Strong understanding of Marriott sales and marketing strategies and systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and hotel management software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
