Solutions Consultant

Department: Outside Sales
Reports to: Director of Client Engagement and New Business

Job Summary


The Solutions Consultant is responsible for achieving the revenue quotas for their business unit. This person will handle all aspects of business development and facilitate the handoff of customers to the Implementation team. In addition, the Solutions Consultant will be responsible for collaborating with other business units within the organization to deliver exceptional customer solutions and maximizing revenue for the company. This position is client facing and interacts with prospects, clients, and internal personnel regularly.

Essential Functions

  • Identify prospective customers using business directories, leads from existing clients, participation in organizations, or trade show or conference attendance
  • Contact new or existing customers to discuss how specific products or services can meet their needs
  • Effectively communicate the need and overall goal of your customers to the operations team to maximize the effective delivery of the client solution
  • Conduct (50-100 per week) daily outbound calls
  • Maintain a deep understanding of customer’s current requirements and anticipate future needs
  • Offer solutions that are appropriate for the customer need
  • Meet or exceed new business revenue goals on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Provide an accurate sales forecast
  • Demonstrate a degree of technical knowledge to gain the confidence of the client prospect
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the customer’s use of products/services
  • Prepare and submit sales contracts for orders
  • Visit establishments to evaluate needs or to promote product or service sales
  • Prepare sales presentations or proposals to explain product specifications or applications
  • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information

Qualifications

  • Possess 5+ years of B-to-B sales experience – Information Technology industry (Preferred)
  • Dale Carnegie Sales training (Preferred)
  • Ability and willingness to travel to prospects and client sites as needed
  • Demonstrated sales, presentation and strong negotiation skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to influence others
  • Highly organized, with strong self-management and the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Highly motivated, self-disciplined and focused on achieving results
  • A high degree of flexibility, with the desire and ability for continuous learning
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other related applications/tools
