Job Title: Cloud Architect

Location: Herndon, VA

YSI is seeking a highly qualified Cloud Architect. The selected candidate will be able to communicate effectively (written/verbal), possess strong interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, and be innovative in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

1. Cloud Architecture and Design

· Design a robust, secure, and scalable cloud architecture for the client system within the designated government cloud environment.

· Lead the development of architectural standards, policies, and best practices to ensure a high-performing and resilient cloud infrastructure.

· Evaluate and select cloud-native tools and technologies to enhance functionality and meet operational needs.

2. Cloud Migration and Configuration

· Oversee the planning and execution of the migration to the government-approved cloud hosting facility, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

· Coordinate with cross-functional teams to configure and deploy infrastructure resources, applications, and services within the cloud environment.

· Develop and implement migration strategies, ensuring all data, applications, and configurations are securely transferred and optimized for the new environment.

3. Security and Compliance

· Implement and enforce cloud security policies and procedures to protect sensitive healthcare data in line with government standards, such as HIPAA and FedRAMP.

· Ensure cloud infrastructure meets compliance requirements, regularly assessing the environment for vulnerabilities, and responding to security incidents as necessary.

· Collaborate with security teams to monitor cloud environments, configure access controls, and deploy encryption, identity, and access management solutions.

4. Performance Optimization and Enhancement

· Identify and implement opportunities for system improvements, performance enhancements, and cost optimization within the cloud infrastructure.

· Continuously review and optimize cloud configurations to improve scalability, resource utilization, and response times.

· Provide recommendations for adding new features or capabilities to enhance the MEDCHART system’s operational effectiveness within the cloud.

5.Documentation and Stakeholder Communication

· Maintain comprehensive documentation on cloud architecture, configurations, and procedures to support continuity and knowledge transfer.

· Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and updates to government stakeholders on cloud migration progress, system enhancements, and performance metrics.

· Act as a technical advisor to government personnel, guiding best practices in cloud adoption and innovation aligned with objectives.

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

· Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud architecture, cloud infrastructure management, or a related field. Prior experience managing cloud migrations and cloud infrastructure for healthcare or government systems is highly desirable. Demonstrated success in designing, implementing, and supporting cloud solutions, preferably in a government or highly regulated environment.

· Technical Skills: Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, with a focus on government cloud offerings. Advanced understanding of cloud architecture principles, including network design, storage solutions, and scalability planning. Skilled in DevOps tools, infrastructure as code (IaC) frameworks, and automation tools to streamline cloud operations.

· Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential challenges. Team leadership and project management skills, capable of guiding teams through complex cloud migration initiatives.

· Certifications (preferred but not required): AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent cloud architecture certifications. Additional certifications in security, DevOps, or data management are advantageous.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
