Bureau Veritas is looking for an Account Manager – Business Development to join our environmental sales team.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Increase our market share by acquiring new accounts and strengthening our presence with existing customers in the environmental sector;
- Understand the technical and regulatory issues that influence potential customers’ purchasing decisions;
- Participate in industry forums to raise awareness of the company’s services and strengthen its reputation in our industry in order to exceed our customers’ expectations;
- Establish and cultivate relationships in our industry;
- Effectively coordinate our prospecting and service activities with internal resources, i.e., customer service, operations, marketing, IT and other sales department employees through appropriate teamwork and communication strategy;
- Contribute to the development, refinement and implementation of a sales strategy tailored to each account;
- Draw up a sales volume forecast for the customers for whom you are responsible, within the framework of the annual budget;
- Gather relevant information about our market, our customers, our competitors’ strategies, examples of successes/failures, and communicate it in a timely manner to the relevant people in the company;
- Contribute to the development of systems and processes aimed at providing exceptional customer service, from proposals to billing;
- Observe Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics and comply with all company policies and quality and health and safety system programs;
- Achieve sales and growth targets defined in the sales territory;
- Visit existing and potential customers. The selected candidate will be expected to spend around 80% of his/her time away from the office. Little travel at night;
- The Technical Accounts Manager reports to the Director of Business Development.
You are an ideal candidate if you:
- Have a B. Sc. or technical degree in a relevant scientific field, or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years in sales and marketing);
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in key account management or equivalent relevant experience in our industry;
- Have technical knowledge of environmental consulting and environmental regulations (a major asset);
- Are bilingual (English and French);
- Can write convincing technical proposals;
- Hold a valid driver’s licence and have a good record of safe driving;
- Have excellent listening, customer service and problem-solving skills, and are proficient in communication and presentation techniques;
- Can work efficiently with minimal supervision, without losing sight of the team’s success;
- Are able to respect tight deadlines to meet customer needs and are available to work outside normal office hours;
- Are energetic, dynamic, and driven by a sense of ethics. You are motivated and want to make a difference.
