Job Purpose

The purpose of the District Sales Manager role is to develop and execute strategic sales plan to grown and manage business within designated territory.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plan to grow and manage business within designated territory
  • Perform sales and marketing activities to meet and exceed forecast
  • Utilize data to proactively manage territory and grow the business
  • Analyze market potential and communicate competitor market data
  • Develop good working relationship with manufacturing team
  • Develop and maintain strong value added relationships with customers, independent reps and internal resources
  • Implement selling tactics that focus on delivering the desired financial results
  • Support and implement strategic corporate brand marketing initiatives
  • Actively participate in trade shows, conventions, dealer shows, etc.
  • Develop primary knowledge of the marketplace (users, applications, products, competition, and channels)
  • Respond to phone calls and e-mails in a timely fashion
  • Willing to learn the industry and help us maintain and grow our marketplace position
  • Attend business meetings and trainings as required
  • Perform other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • Ideally located in or willing to relocate to the Portland Oregon Metro area or close surrounding states.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in business, sales, marketing, advertising, or similar field preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in a sales, marketing, advertising, event or retail related setting. Internship experience and previous entry-level experience will also be considered as working experience for this role
  • MS Office experience including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
  • Ability and desire to work in a team-oriented work environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and results driven
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
  • Must be dependable and safety oriented
  • Outstanding written & verbal communication skills with ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends for events and promotions
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to adhere to schedules/deadlines
  • Enthusiastic about providing best possible customer service for clients and consumers
  • Positive attitude & eagerness to learn
  • A role up your sleeves, and all hands-on deck mentality to cross functional tasks and assignments
  • Ability to perform intermediate/advanced tasks in the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Negative pre-employment drug screen and ability to pass criminal background check
  • Good attendance record
  • Travel as required
