Your proven track record in sales and sales leadership within service-based business settings, combined with great relationship-building skills and the ability to think strategically while creating systems and processes, will allow you to shine in this management role. You will assist with the creation of strategy and processes around which to scale the organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Sales Team Manager will work with the leadership team to develop strategies for long-term growth whereby Reliance captures maximum transportation revenue of our clients as we seek to make a lasting impact.

What you’re expected to do:
- Engage in new business development as you follow the Reliance Sales Process, adjusting and enhancing as necessary
- Perform prospecting and lead generation including cold calling, networking and other methods
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sales representatives to achieve and exceed sales goals
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies and processes to drive business growth
- Monitor team performance, providing regular feedback and coaching to enhance skills and productivity
- Foster a positive and motivating culture that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement by emulating core values and calling others up to a higher standard
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand Reliance’s client base
- Collaborate with other departments, including Carrier Sales and Client Success, to ensure The Reliance Promise is upheld
- Analyze market trends and competitors to stay informed about industry developments and identify areas for improvement
- Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and strategic recommendations
- Participate in recruiting, hiring, and training new sales team members
- Perform quarterly performance reviews for all direct reports in Sales Department; lead morning huddles and weekly meetings with Sales Department
- Identify new opportunities by implementing quarterly client meetings while training team on approach to consultative selling
- Travel for client visits as needed
- Monitor leading and lagging indicators for the Sales Department
- Participate in weekly management meetings with scorecard responsibilities
What sets you up for success:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of sales experience
- 3+ years of freight brokerage sales experience is preferred
- 2+ years of leadership and managment experience
- Consulting experience or experience in consultative sales approach
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse sales team
- Keen ability to articulate concepts both verbally and through written documentation
- Results-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools to manage and track performance
- Keen ability to think creatively, integrates ideas, and develop effective solutions
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Works well with a diverse group of people
- Excels at managing multiple projects simultaneously
