Job Description

The Customer Business Manager is the key daily interface responsible for managing customer relationships within the Independent Beauty/OTC Channel. This role is responsible for executing the Estyle sales strategy with their customers including driving sales, brand market share, and growth within our distributors and broker network.

This highly motivated individual develops and executes customer-specific business plans that support and are aligned to Estyle’s Domestic market sales and marketing strategies. The Customer Business Manager translates our national plans into account specific plans, monitors and evaluates progress based on clear KPIs, and adjusts the plan to deliver their assigned targets. This role delivers goals for their assigned customers while managing the budget for optimal ROI. They collaborate and drive alignment with customers, while growing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience with consumer products in both Retail and Independent Beauty/OTC focused organizations. Additionally, this candidate needs to be driven and strategic and have a strong ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and hands-on environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Leadership & Strategy: Promote a vision and a voice for Estyle distributor & independent accounts.
  • Serves as the key point of contact while being viewed as a business consultant to the customer. Gains alignment between company and customer strategies through selling and negotiation activities
  • Develops and executes business plans to deliver sales results, including maximized volume potential, increased merchandising effectiveness, brand growth, and brand share.
  • Effectively executes new item launch plans and promotional plans, while integrating customer/brand specific objectives.
  • Leads annual business planning process within assigned account(s), leading annual, quarterly, and weekly sales meetings to develop and maintain alignment with overall sales strategy.
  • Anticipates challenges and prepares contingency plans to ensure sustainable growth despite potential setbacks.
  • Serves in the role as expert on the brand (with the customer) and the market/customer (with internal stakeholders) and designs innovative programs that generate a win-win outcome.
  • Collaborates with internal partners and facilitates teamwork to achieve company and customer business results, serving as the voice of the customers in the design of market-focused initiatives.
  • Leads Estyle’s participation in customer-specific sales events (inclusive of trade shows, digital and print media campaigns). Collaborates with marketing to develop programs and multimedia presentation materials (creative and media assets, point of sale materials, booth design, etc.) that support the execution of these events.
Sales Planning & Development: Develop workflows to improve sales velocity and maximize productivity.
  • Creates, establishes and/or utilizes customer-specific dashboards to provide performance measurement, deliver business insight, and identify and close sales gaps.
  • Responsible for accurate forecasting of monthly sales by item and special packs/displays. Partners with sales leadership, Finance, and inventory planning teams to ensure inventory forecasts dovetail with sales expectations.
  • Partners with internal sales and marketing counterparts to develop strategies and tactics that create “pull” and demand for Estyle products at retail that are aligned to account plans and activities.
  • Utilizes internal and customer business systems to manage and maximize plans (e.g., trade promotion management, sales forecasting, and data & reporting systems).
  • Regularly reconcile payments and update promotional plans to remain within budget.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or other relevant field
  • 5 10 years’ experience in a sales role with progressive responsibility

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
