Job Description
A Sales Engineer (SE) is responsible for the design and presentation of the KnowledgeLake solution that meets or exceeds customer's business requirements. This position will work closely with the sales team and partners to identify specific opportunities, conduct technical presentations, and perform proof-of-concept demonstrations. They must work well under pressure, be comfortable taking ownership of designs, and possess the soft skills to build lasting relationships with customers and partners. The SE must also possess previous work experience with document management software and enough business acumen to understand how different roles interrelate and how to utilize available resources.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions
- Identify customer's needs and sales opportunities to maximize and grow sales
- Build customized product demonstrations for KL products and solutions that are tied to business value
- Perform presentations, demos, and technical whiteboards of KL's solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Competently explain and present the unique selling propositions and differentiators demonstrating the features, functions, and benefits of utilizing KL's product
- Provide technical sales assistance to the sales team
- Identify technical scope and solution designs for potential customers
- Lead technical/ security meetings and proof of concept initiatives with potential customers
- Lead final design sessions with potential customers
- Participate in all appropriate product, sales, and procedural training and/or certification to acquire and maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective in this position
- Attain quarterly and annual objectives assigned by management
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The following are the minimum qualifications an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree with a technical or business focus preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Experience
- 2+ years' experience as a pre-sale engineer
Skills/Abilities
- Ability to assist with the entire sales lifecycle, including Needs Analysis, Design, and Demonstration.
- ECM knowledge and experience preferred
- Excellent knowledge of Enterprise Applications including (web-based applications, OS, Networking and Security)
- Experience with presenting technical material to non-technical audiences
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in progressively challenging technical roles developing, deploying, or supporting applications
- Ability to engage customers at the configuration level and communicate with Sales, Marketing, and Management Team
- Ability to excel in idea generation, evaluation, and prioritization, customer and partner engagement, and cross functional technical program management
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
- Ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges
- Possess a passion for innovation, and helping customers and partners to achieve success
Travel Required
- Employee is required to travel to and from customer sites as needed.
