Job Description

The Business Travel and Entertainment Sales Manager (BTSM) is a highly motivated individual who will solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication. This manager is responsible for the development of business transient sales and handles government and FIT transient market segments for the hotel. He/she prepares correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and is responsible for contact and activity management for all accounts under that responsibility.


  • Handle BT responsibilities for hotel and be point of contact for all BT accounts (local and national), wholesale/FIT, consortia, and government markets.


  • Responsible for all related BT duties/task (Rate & System maintenance/VIP coordination, exception processing, B2B and end user customer service)


  • Will represent hotel(s) for any tradeshow, market solicitation activities.


  • On-site market sales activity required


  • Manages the Distressed Airline accounts


As key enablement tools, the candidate will successfully embed Corporate and Business Travel sales initiatives and strategies that will increase hotels visibility and improve year over year share of Corporate & Business Travel business to hotels. The position requires a proactive approach and carefully crafted account plans to achieve desired results. The Corporate Sales Account Manager will also be measured on successful collaboration with varying stakeholders to include property leaders, corporate leadership team including Global Sales, and key third party intermediators.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Manage Corporate Business Travel Sales in a wide variety of industries. Sell guest rooms and services to transient market customers through corporate accounts, consortia, national accounts, travel agencies and individual corporate travel. The manager will also have a focus on FIT and Wholesale accounts for the hotel, domestic / International agencies and individual travel accounts.

Responsible for proactively developing and maintaining relationships with key clients to produce repeat business and while identifying, qualify and solicit new accounts for corporate transient market.

Develop and execute action plans against existing and new target accounts to achieve and exceed sales quotas within the assigned segment.

Prospect and penetrate new accounts for acquisition through a variety of channels.

Convert new accounts into loyal accounts.

Manage hotel's RFP process and ensure accuracy of content in RFP.

Represent the Hotel at trade shows, conventions, community events, industry meeting, sales trips and blitzes. Maintain an active presence in the community attending CVB, Chamber of Commerce networking events, GBTA, and other approved shows/missions/events relevant to these markets.

Increase visibility of the hotel in the transient market, generating new business within the market.

Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.

Prepare and present effective status and month end reports, maintain well-organized documentation and coordination of customer service requirements with hotel operations staff as appropriate.

Work as a team member with the sales and catering staff and with the Sales Coordinator

Professional and positive communication to both guests and fellow employees.

Deliver on the promise of uncompromised hospitality.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:


Previous background from the hotel sales preferred.

Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.

Professional verbal and written communication skills.

Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities.

Experience with Microsoft Office, Travelclick 360 products preferred.

Ability to travel including some overnight travel is required.

Frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.

Carrying, lifting or pulling items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Frequently handling objects and equipment.
