COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Sampled enables clients to advance human health by leveraging active biological samples through preservation, immortalization and utilization in comprehensive multiomics research within the only leading-edge Global Integrated Analytical Biorepository.
In line with our ongoing growth plan, we are expanding our Sales team with the addition of a new Account Manager position for the Boston area.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Senior Account Manager for the region, the Account Manager, Boston, will develop and execute on a strategic growth plan for the territory, building a solid sales pipeline and owning both the sales process and client relationships to ensure consistent delivery of revenue targets. Candidates must be based within an easily commutable distance of Boston.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a plan to build a sales pipeline for the territory, and develop through all funnel stages to ensure quarterly and annual revenue targets are achieved.
- Follow-up on marketing leads and directly identify your own potential clients from biotech, pharmaceutical, academic and adjacent applied markets.
- Prospect, call, & visit clients to educate them on Sampled’s offering, developing long-term relationships.
- Consistently advance accounts and win business by setting clear strategic client- centric objectives.
- Be technically and scientifically competent in presenting existing and expanding services capabilities, including new product launches.
- Work with the Scientific Solutions team to produce proposals that leverage Sampled’s core competencies to deliver high-impact solutions to client’s research and development needs.
- Manage internal resources effectively to set strategic meetings between clients and appropriate Sampled leadership to win large-scale projects. Own and be accountable for the process to deliver proposals through to successful completion using all appropriate internal resources and customer stakeholders.
- Attend industry specific conferences, trade shows, scientific meetings in line with the marketing plan, to network with potential clients.
- Manage opportunities effectively through the various stages of the sale pipeline and communicate progress internally through maintaining up-to-date records in the CRM platform.
- Act as the Key Account Manager for existing clients.
- Represent both the voice of sales (VOS) and voice of customer (VOC) internally.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must be based within an easy commute of Boston.- Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree strongly preferred.
- Experience in biotechnology, life sciences, or scientific services industries
- Proven success & extensive knowledge of biopharma process
- Understanding of full drug discovery value chain i.e. from discovery to approval
- Proven sales experience, successfully and consistently hitting targets
- Strong “closer” with successful track record of coordinating a complex sales process from initial contact to signature, including the ability to negotiate through complex agreements
- Strong relevant territory and account knowledge and ability to forecast accurately
- Strong business analytics, strategy development, and relationship management.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams around specific accounts and opportunities
- Can demonstrate competency in project management, problem solving and change management
- Proficient computer skills; including MS Office suite and HubSpot (or similar CRM tool)
- Entrepreneurial, driven, “out of the box” thinker & results-oriented individual with passion for business development success
- Ability to work with a high level of autonomy while seeking support when needed.
