Job Description

SUMMARY

Reports to the VP-Operations Manager. Prepares all Material for shipment to customers. Works with freight carriers to ensure proper material is being loaded to customers. Responsibility for achievement of high quality, low cost, safety and on-time performance goals and development of advanced methods and techniques to increase productivity. This is a very fast paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reports to the Sales Manager. This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks as required by the company.

Accurate packing and shipping of various sized material
Create stamps/viro-peen/stencil per traveler to properly identify material
Comply with all quality standards
Assemble custom made pallets for material
Properly load trucks to ensure no damage to material
Operates Company Truck as needed
Ability to work independently with minimal direction from manager
Understands how to check for defects, FOD, imperfections
Maintains a safe and organized work area and displays concern for the smooth operation of the company
Follows all company policies and safety procedures
Ability to meet assigned deadlines
Performs all other tasks as required

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
Ability to complete simple production reports
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and fractions
Accurately measure using 1/8 and 1/16
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to operate a forklift
Ability to write legibly

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Related Work 2 years’ experience

Forklift Certified 2 years’ experience
Work experience in manufacturing a plus
Experience with chip saw/nail gun a plus
Ability to read and write English

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing normal duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands frequently. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception to read instruments, operate material handling equipment and identify plant color code system. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in this work environment requires hearing protection. The job may require additional hours beyond a 40-hour workweek.
