The Role
Proofpoint, Inc, an innovative security-as-service vendor that delivers data protection solutions that help organizations protect their data from attack and enable them to effectively meet the complex and evolving regulatory compliance and data governance mandates that have been spawned from highly publicized data breaches is looking for a highly motivated Distribution and Public Sector Partner Account Manager covering Carahsoft and Public Sector partners based in VA, DC, or MD.
This role will work with Carahsoft resources to enable Proofpoint public sector partners to drive growth in revenue. Provide world class support to our distributor and top public sector partners. Continuously improve operational efficiency. Manage performance from the business to a defined set of sales goals and KPI's.
Your day-to-day
  • Define and deploy a public sector channel business plan to deepen our traction with Carahsoft and top public sector partners, reviewing and re-assessing quarterly
  • Conduct regular sales training presentations with partner sales teams to ensure they understand and can articulate Proofpoint's Value Proposition
  • Work with the Channel Marketing team to drive marketing programs with Carahsoft that tie back to a successful ROI
  • Oversee relationship-building activities and account mapping activities between the Proofpoint public sector sales organization and Carahsoft including top public sector partners
  • Works to improve operational efficiency between Proofpoint and Carahsoft
  • Ensure end of quarter operation success
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Proofpoint's competitive positioning
  • Candidate will reside in VA, DC, or MD.
What you bring to the team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to clearly and effectively articulate Proofpoint's value; Ability to deliver effective presentations and sales training on products and channel programs
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment, to prioritize effectively to think big picture
  • Existing relationships with Carahsoft and key partners in the Public Sector vertical
  • Experience managing Carahsoft
  • Strong cross-functional communications skills to drive consensus across those groups internally and within the partner organizations; Works well cross-functionally with channel sales organization , Proofpoint sales, pre-sales engineering, channel marketing, operations, finance, order operations, etc.
  • Data driven, with experience using Salesforce, MS Power BI and MS Excel
