Job Description
We are looking to hire a skilled Medical Biller. The ideal candidate will work as part of a team to meet deadlines, but being able to work independently is crucial to success in this position.
Some responsibilities include:
- Work as part an internal billing department.
- Review refunds and credit balances and resolve them per guidelines.
- Assist staff and providers with billing inquiries and questions.
- Assist leadership with some office administrative responsibilities.
- Following up on open balances; diligently working to maximize collections.
- Familiar with surgical claim processing.
- Aggressively following up on denied claims and communicating denial trends to an account manager to prevent ongoing workflow issues and payment delays.
- Review and resolve correspondence received from insurance carriers.
- Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- Successful at collections, working claims, submitting appeals, and experience as a medical accounts receivable specialist
- Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and EMR billing software
- The high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal skills, along with outstanding customer service and negotiation skills
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations
- Experience with an EMR system (specifically eClinicalWorks is a plus)
Hours 7:30-4:00PM Monday-Friday (No Weekends)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
