Here's what you'll be doing....
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide excellent customer service, advise staff and faculty with prompt and accurate communicate regarding course materials formats
- Liaise with teaching staff to solicit prompt and accurate course requirements in all formats and follow up with teaching staff to ensure timely information flow
- Follow up and track adoptions with instructors and publisher reps to ensure a high-level of usage of course materials
- Manage course materials overall data to process and fulfill orders and control inventory levels
- Work with the Inventory Analyst to order new materials to support Bulk Sales
- Process returns in a timely manner and prior to the return expiration period to ensure that obsolete inventory is negligible
- Support the transition of the Bookstore to new business models including the integration of new technology to automate work flows with NetSuite software and other digital partners
- Support and maintain a well merchandised sales area including working together with floor staff and on the sales floor as needed
- Undertake and participate in special projects and other related duties as required
Reputation Building and Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with U of T faculties and departments to support the teaching and learning experience of students
- Communicate regularly with the Course Materials Sales Manager to review work priorities, results and other job related functions
- Partner closely with publisher reps to secure learning materials required by instructors and secure the most cost-effective delivery method to students
- Customer focused, support student customers by answering their queries
- Actively contribute to a positive, engaged and creative team dynamic within the Retail group
- Work closely with finance, Inventory Analyst and business operations (shipping/receiving) to ensure an accurate view of our business
Education, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Post-secondary graduate; or equivalent combination of education/experience
- Excellent understanding of systems and digital software
- Buying experience preferred
- Publisher experience is an asset
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
- Proficient knowledge of systems technology and aptitude to learn easily new systems
- Able to implement and manage time lines
- Dedicated to customer focus
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Able to balance long-term planning (e.g. the next semester) and day-to-day operating activities
