Job Description
UG2 is seeking a Business Development Manager to be based in our Washington, DC office. This position will be tasked with building on the current pipeline for this market, including developing target plans and growing the pipeline to meet new business targets. Enthusiasm, energy and drive is required in order for you to be successful in the role.
The Business Development Manager will drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with client prospects. This position will prospect new business by networking, using lead generation tools, and other methods of producing interest from potential clients. This role will work closely with business development leadership, regional operations leaders, senior level management, marketing, and proposal staff, to carry out job duties.
Requirements (Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Education and/or Experience):
- 2+ years of proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role
- Facilities service industry and/or corporate real estate market experience and demonstrated existing network of potential prospects is a plus
- Innate drive to succeed and take initiative
- Strong organizational talents and ability to work under pressure and in new environments
- Excellent communication skills
- Exceptional client relationship management skills
- Excellent communication, influencing, facilitation skills and ability to communicate with audiences ranging from large groups to individuals, normally in very senior roles
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing and nurturing new lead prospects by networking, socializing, using lead generation tools, and other methods
- Contacting potential customers to develop relationships and sales
- Developing new sales areas and optimizing sales to existing clients through various methods
- Researching trends to support creating new approached to generating opportunities
- Creating ideas, initiatives and new approaches to market UG2 services
- Maintaining current client relationships and identifying potential clients
- Developing proposed solutions for new business pursuits based on rigorous techniques to understand client needs
- Managing the bid process for new business
- Diligently working to ensure target requirements are met, such as sales numbers and profitability goals for sold accounts
- Maintaining a strong understanding of UG2 services and capabilities while proactively researching innovations to bring to potential clients
- Generating and presenting weekly reports and reviews of sales lead pipelines and pursuits
- Managing sales pursuits from initial request through award
