Reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing Operations or Designate, the Material Handler will work with the materials and manufacturing teams in the Westek Lumberyard.
Working Conditions
- 3 days per week, 36 hours/week.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
- Working outside in all weather conditions with exposure to dust, dirt and other outside elements including excessive heat and cold weather conditions
- Moderate exposure to personal risk; safety boots are required
- Busy, high volume

What You Will Do and What Skills This Position Requires You Come With
- Operate rough terrain forklift outside in yard
- Build Orders (daily)
- Support with Inventory
- Sort and put away stock
- Load/unload trucks
- Palettize aging documents from c-cans to prepare for shredding
- Working with chainsaw, banding tools and various other tools/machinery
- Maintain Westek parking lot, property and lumberyard
- Ensure load matches sales order with detail and accuracy
- Yard maintenance/cleanliness
- Maintain a good working relationship with customers, fellow employees and management
- Ability to stand for long periods at a time
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 75+ lbs
- Consistently and safely bend, twist, squat and reach throughout the work shift
- Willingness to learn
Health and Safety
- Commit to follow safe work practices, procedures and hazard assessments at all times
- Follow safety programs and ensure compliance of OH&S regulations
- Provides input relative to Westek safety goals and help to support a strong safety culture.
- Participates and/or leads regular scheduled safety meetings.

Our industry leading roof trusses are designed using technologically advanced computer programs and manufactured in an automated, quality-controlled facility.
