The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Lifebit’s growing service delivery team. We are looking for a Solutions Architect with experience in one or more of the following specialties: Bioinformatics/Computational Biology, Cloud Infrastructure, Real-World Data and/or Genomic Medicine. The candidate should enjoy working hands-on with our commercial team, scientists, software engineers, and clients to solve challenges in the world of Genomics and Precision Medicine.

You will provide exceptional technical knowledge and thought leadership in your specialty, while working with a world-class sales and business development team. You will lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the solutions architect community. You will gain the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today across the breadth of genomics and bioinformatics.

As a Solutions Architect at Lifebit, you’ll be the bridge between Sales, Product Management, and our Solutions teams, playing an essential role in supporting Sales with technical expertise to drive deal closure. Based in the Boston and or DC area, you’ll work closely with prospective and current clients, showcasing the capabilities of Lifebit’s platform through tailored demonstrations and technical selling. This position is integral to enabling customer success by aligning Lifebit’s solutions with clients’ technical needs and business goals.

Requirements

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Technical Customer Support: Provide expert support in bioinformatics, cloud infrastructure, and genomics, assisting clients in overcoming technical challenges and achieving their project goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Commercial, and Executive teams to shape strategy, enhance technical sales pitches, and support pharmaceutical client engagement through tailored communications and proposal development.
  • Sales Enablement & Solution Development: Develop and execute technical demos and presentations that showcase Lifebit’s platform capabilities. Create and oversee solution proposals, RFP responses, and delivery plans, ensuring solutions meet client requirements and align with their strategic vision.
  • Client Engagement & Support: Act as a trusted technical advisor, guiding clients on best practices and providing ongoing support across the sales and implementation lifecycle. Maintain alignment with client needs and offer expertise in solution delivery.
  • Insights & Best Practices: Capture insights from projects and client feedback, facilitating knowledge-sharing across teams to refine Lifebit’s product offerings. Provide technical guidance to support team training and development.
  • Industry Expertise & Innovation: Stay updated on the latest in bioinformatics, multi-omics, and cloud technologies, applying best practices to ensure Lifebit’s solutions lead the industry. Engage with developers, administrators, architects, and C-suite clients to design and implement impactful solutions.
  • Solution Lifecycle Management: Translate clients' project visions to the development team, ensuring solutions fit within existing offerings and address technical, business, and user requirements. Contribute to the concept, design, evaluation, and prototyping of client solutions.
  • Technical Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert, fostering thought leadership in bioinformatics and cloud computing within the healthcare software landscape.



What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience: 3+ years in a technical, customer-facing role within sales, solutions, or product management, ideally in the healthcare or life sciences industry.
  • Education: BSc in computer science, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field (MSc/PhD preferred).
  • Technical Knowledge: Intermediate knowledge of bioinformatics, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and genomics data management.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, relationship-building, and technical writing skills with an ability to craft tailored presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Understanding of SDLC: Solid understanding of design principles, SDLC, and best practices for solution development.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare and life sciences industry standards, especially around data security, compliance, and interoperability.
  • Travel Requirements: 1-2 times per quarter within the USA to meet with prospects or clients on-site.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Sales Experience: Previous experience in a technical sales role or supporting a sales organization with solutions architecture.
  • Certifications: AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure certifications.
  • Programming Skills: Knowledge of R/Python or experience building pipelines in Nextflow.
  • Healthcare Solutions Background: Experience in data management, clinical research, or precision medicine solutions.
  • Strong understanding of US Healthcare ecosystems and; experience with EHR or multi-omics data integration is highly desirable.
