Job Description:

The Area Sales Manager is a highly strategic role which will shape how and where Nothum creates new revenue segments moving forward. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving business growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding our market presence. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated successes in business development, a proven track record of achieving sales growth targets, and the ability to cultivate and maintain strong client relationships.

This is a Base Salary + Commission role. Base salary is $100,000/per year. Commission structure is tiered, anticipated pay for a successful incumbent is $200-$300,000 per year. The Area Sales Manager's primary responsibilities are developing and managing their territory, developing and growing customer relationships, and selling equipment offerings from Nothum Food Processing Systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance customer relationships with multiple levels at customer locations to include but not limited to Complex Managers, Plant Management, Maintenance Managers, and Engineers at all active customers, potential customers, and prospects.
  • Become an expert in active customer base regarding current Nothum equipment, production, and maintenance practices
  • Promote and sell all Nothum equipment offerings within the territory
    • New full lines
    • Replacement equipment
    • Spare parts and services with equipment orders
  • Establish and manage plans to ensure sufficient customer communication with customers of all categories and levels including a consistent travel plan to maximize in-person communication
  • Work with the Director of Sales to create corporate-level plans, growth plans, and territory development
  • Utilize and maintain all applicable information, including a healthy pipeline of opportunities, in CRM
  • Identify opportunities for customer demonstrations (both on-site and at Nothum)
  • Identify opportunities for growth with existing Notum equipment portfolio, or new products within our arena

Job Requirements

  • Must possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to travel via automobile and air to customer sites across multiple states and Canada
  • Ability and desire to travel more than 50% of the week, every week.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Google equivalents
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere as a leader and as a participant
  • Goal-oriented and self-driven
  • Highly organized
  • 5-10 years of applicable experience in Capital Equipment Sales at levels above $250K.
  • Possess or build a full technical understanding of all Nothum equipment offerings
  • Some college experience or technical degree required, 4 year degree preferred
  • Proven history of successful relationship-building and sales performance.
  • Experience working with a CRM
  • Current Passport and valid driver's license.
