About this Role:

We are seeking a passionate, results-oriented Agency Sales Manager (ASM) who will partner with our Agency Owners to help them build their businesses profitably. Under general supervision, the ASM will guide and direct new and existing agencies through various business development and agency management activities. This role involves driving new business policy production within assigned agencies and providing ongoing sourcing, sales, and retention direction to agents. Accountable for achieving new business (NB) growth targets, the ASM will also require some travel as part of their responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Holds a strong understanding of the business and the profile of a successful agency, creating “agency profiles” for each assigned agency
  • Set sales standards and expectations for individual agencies
  • Be the main resource for agents to engage and drive production with NB policy sales
  • Develop and coach sales agents within assigned agencies while proactively evaluating the sales skills of agents & identify additional training opportunities
  • Proactively identifies retention trends and reviews individual agency results to identify NB sales trends and address quickly if needed.
  • Reports out on NB policy sales, agency production, developments & potential agencies in jeopardy of closure due to low productivity in leadership meetings
  • Weekly/daily production meetings with agents to ensure prospect pipeline and production results are in line with assigned objectives
  • Maintains documentation of activities and follow up in appropriate systems regularly and accurately
  • Understands national & regional carriers, appetite while educating agencies on how to capitalize on each
  • Understands critical attributes of sales leadership, identifying positive sales behaviors and resolving any negative behaviors
  • Participate in DOD to explain role and agency expectations
  • Participate in onboarding of new agents, when needed
  • Ensure agencies are utilizing all marketing/sales support resources effectively
  • Ensure agencies understand and adhere to BW established quality standards
  • Cultivates positive relationships with individual agencies`

Education and Experience

This position requires a high school diploma and 3-5 years of sales management experience, preferably within P&C insurance sales management. College degree preferred.

Skills, Licenses, Certifications

  • P&C Licensed in home state required
  • Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy, exceptional attention to detail
  • Exhibit a sales mentality that drives results
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator; must be able to convey ideas in a clear and concise manner
  • Excellent independent judgment and decision making
  • Ability to quickly gain an understanding of Brightway systems; regularly updates activities accurately
  • Ability to learn, embrace and put into practice new concepts and skills as needed
  • Superior ability to manage own time, activities and resources; models’ behavior for others
  • Can demonstrate Brightway values
  • Superior ability to influence others, as a leader
  • Demonstrates ability to consistently influence agents behaviors.
