Job Description

The focus of the Key Account Manager is on maintaining customer relationships, assessing client-specific needs, and promoting the services of the company to achieve the revenue goals.

The Key Account Manager will develop strategic partnerships with customers to understand and anticipate business needs to ensure business objectives are being met. This role is responsible for recognizing and seeking new business opportunities within the current key account base. Take a proactive approach to all aspects of account management and service delivery to clients, ensuring client needs are identified and met in line with agreed service standards.

Escalate customer concerns as needed and follow through with shipment from end-to-end of the shipment cycle communication and provide support.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for executing the account strategy and management to improve quality of relationships, product penetration, revenue share, supplier status and ranking.
  • Serve as a customer advocate, accountable for escalation and proper customer positioning on all issues pertaining to customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that all account plans, service level agreements, standard operating procedures, organizational charts, account information and related documentation are current and on file record.
  • Develop key relationships at all levels within the account that drive proactive solutions that are innovative and provide value relative to the customer’s needs.
  • Provide overall management of new, existing portfolio and information relative to the customers including implementation of new procedures, quotes, contract agreements, routing, ad-hoc bids, and special projects.
  • Reporting to management and clients on KPIs to track client activity and CNW performance.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of reporting in sales pipeline management, all regular and ad-hoc sales reports as and when required.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Operations Management or an equivalent combination of logisitics, air freight, or supply chain experience required.
  • Must exhibit excellent communication skills at all levels within the customer including executive; strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability; ability to compose letters, emails,
  • and other written documentation clearly and concisely.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills with the ability to grasp extensive knowledge while dealing with a variety of people and personalities.
  • Must be able to present oneself in a highly cooperative and professional manner when meeting both internal and external customers and vendors face-to-face.
  • Basic to intermediate experience using Windows operating system and Microsoft software applications is required.
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with the desire to acquire additional responsibilities.
