Job Title: Accounting Manager
Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Reporting to: President
Regular Work Schedule: The work week is Monday through Sunday, and the regular workdays/hours are as agreed/assigned by the direct supervisor based on business/department needs
Position Summary
The Accounting Manager is a mid-level to senior level accounting professional who understands the principles of financial accounting and is responsible for performing accounting needs for DIS. They oversee some accounting procedures and advise on general financial matters. The Accounting Manager performs a variety of duties such as maintaining the general ledger, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes, conducting internal audits, reviewing financial statements, preparing financial reports, assisting with external audits, and budgeting processes, and reconciling accounts. They also assist the Controller as needed and respond to information requests by management and for auditing purposes and maintain records and statements for compliance with laws and regulations.
To be successful, the Accounting Manager should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). They must demonstrate safe work habits, be detail oriented, have excellent time management skills, be able to problem solve/troubleshoot independently, and have exceptional attendance. The Accounting Manager must be able to perform duties in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency while maintaining excellent internal customer service. The Accounting Manager must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions and will work well alone or as part of a team.
Essential Duties
1. Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
2. Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assist with monthly close processes.
3. Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections and create expense reports as needed.
4. Meet processing and reporting deadlines.
5. Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits.
6. Ensure DIS compliance with GAAP.
7. Assist the Controller as needed.
8. Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
9. Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.
10. Submit invoices and follow up with payments from customers.
11. Support other company accounting staff as needed.
12. Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
13. Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
14. Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
15. Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year; files annual corporate tax return.
16. Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
17. Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
18. Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
19. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
20. Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Required Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years+ experience with successful demonstration of duties; or 20 years in a senior Accountant role such as Controller or Sr. Accountant in lieu of degree is acceptable.
· Working knowledge of GAAP
· Strong knowledge of mathematics with an understanding of organizational accounting concepts and strong financial analysis skills
· Knowledge of financial reporting software tools and ERP software
· In-depth knowledge of financial guidelines, laws, and regulations
· Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
· Technical aptitude, attention to detail, and excellent follow-up
· Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Highly motivated, driven, and self-starting
· Excellent time management & organizational / networking skills
· Strong communication skills including writing, speaking and active listening with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
