About Us:
Join our dynamic team at the Marriott in Colorado Springs! We're seeking a highly motivated Group Sales Manager to help our sales team and ensure the seamless execution of sales functions. If you have experience in coordinating high-volume catering and banquet events, are passionate about delivering exceptional service and sales, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want you on our team. Primary Purpose of the Position:
As the Sales Manager for Marriott Colorado Springs, managed by Pyramid Global, your role is pivotal in achieving and surpassing sales goals, with a primary focus on the Group market across all segments. You'll be responsible for crafting and executing a strategic sales plan, nurturing client relationships, identifying emerging target markets, and introducing new sales products to meet and exceed revenue targets. Moreover, this role entails monitoring market trends, staying updated with industry best practices across all segments, and adjusting strategies accordingly.Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities; this is an Employee Non Exempt Position (45 hours based) and overtime does apply and is calculated accordingly. Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales to establish annual sales call and revenue objectives and devise a strategic sales plan.

  • Create individual sales plans and targets for designated market segments.

  • Actively seek and secure new business within assigned market segments to boost group revenue.

  • Conduct outside sales, prospecting, and telephone sales calls to potential venues and organizations within all relevant Group market segments.

  • Expand the existing customer base while acquiring new accounts across all three hotels.

  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and management of group promotions in line with the overall sales and marketing strategy.

  • Cultivate expertise in designated Group markets (e.g., Corporate, Citywide convention blocks, SMERF) and establish yourself as a community leader.

  • Work closely with the property Sales Team to stay informed about market trends, competition, and customer preferences. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for customer acquisition and retention.

  • Participated in sales presentations, property tours, customer meetings, and business reviews alongside the team.

  • Engage in trade shows, conventions, and promotional events hosted by the hotel, the industry, and customer organizations.

  • Maintain awareness of the competitive landscape and adapt sales plans and strategies, accordingly, ensuring continued market leadership.

  • Conduct regular client visits and attend industry events with other sales managers and the Director of Sales.

  • Develop and uphold best practices, policies, and service initiatives to deliver optimal sales service and client retention.

  • Oversee the preparation of proposals and contracts to meet client needs and financial objectives.

  • Perform site inspections for clients as required to secure business.

  • Attend pre-conference and post-conference meetings when necessary.

  • Sustain regular communication with management, reporting on potential new business, lost business, sales activities, and operational matters.

  • Keep the property's Sales/Catering system up to date with accurate and timely account activities and relevant contact information, following established standards.

  • Undertake other duties, projects, and reports as assigned by the Director of Sales and Corporate Office to contribute to business growth. Opportunity for Growth:

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information discreetly and professionally.

  • Proficiency in identifying sales opportunities.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and customer service skills, including the ability to troubleshoot independently.

  • Outstanding time management and organizational abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong capability to track actions and follow through on processes.

  • Proficiency in computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • This role necessitates some travel, both locally and out of state. Candidates must possess their reliable transportation and hold a valid state driver’s license for sales calls.

  • Attention to detail and strong orientation towards setting priorities, multitasking, and meeting deadlines.

  • An understanding of the competitive landscape and the agility to maintain a leadership position amidst market and economic changes, adjusting sales plans and strategies as needed.

  • Effective interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers, even in high-pressure situations that demand patience, tact, and diplomacy. Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • One to two years of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Preferably, a four-year degree and prior experience in the hotel industry.

  • At least 4 years of hotel sales experience.

  • Proficiency in advanced sales techniques and yield management.

  • Advanced customer service skills.

  • Experience with CI/TY Sales & Catering Software program is preferred. Compensation Range: The compensation for this position is $60,000.00/Yr. - $75,000.00/Yr. based on qualifications and experience.
