Job Description

Summary

The Showroom Sales Manager is responsible for all daily showroom sales activities, including supervising Sales Designers, reviewing contracts, managing customer relations, driving sales revenue and related sales performance. This individual will monitor sales in relation to financial goals, prepare and deliver sales materials, and assist the Sales Designers as needed.

Job Duties

· Manage the efforts and activities of sales department in alignment with corporate revenue goals and objectives

· Supervises Sales Designers including recommendations for hiring, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and conflict resolution

· Ensure effective customer service is maintained by scheduling staff in an appropriate manner to respond to customer traffic volumes

· Review all sales contracts on a daily basis for accuracy and completeness before they are sent to Accounting

· Responsible for signing off on all ‘No Charge’ orders

· Ensure all customer payments are accurate and complete

· Ensure that all sales related policies and procedures are followed by all showroom staff

· Directly responsible for all opening and closing procedures and ensuring the safety and security of the showroom and showroom staff

· Analyze the effectiveness of sales programs; recommend changes and implement changes as directed by the President

· Assist the President and Controller in the development of strategic plans for the sales function

· Assist in annual budget planning; monitor expenditures throughout the fiscal year

· Responsible to communicate showroom sales performance to the showroom sales designers, as well as the company as a whole

· Conduct sales forecasts and weekly and/or monthly status reports

· Report monthly on showroom visits, quotes and sale closure statistics

· Act as liaison to other business units for completion of day-to-day administrative and operational issues

· Liaise with Human Resources to identify skill gaps and develop action plans to assist in staff development

· Assist Human Resources in preparing training and development plans for sales designers

· Formulate incentives plans to encourage sales department staff to excel

· Responsible for showroom displays, ensuring that they are clean, maintained and reflect current trends

Requirements

· Bachelors degree in business or a technical discipline

· A university degree or college diploma in business administration or in a related field with a specialization in sales or marketing

· Minimum of 5 years sales experience

· Minimum of 4 years management experience

· Strong knowledge of retail and/or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques

· Ability to examine and re-engineer sales operations, form new policies, develop and implement new strategies

· Knowledge of cost analysis, fiscal management, and budgeting techniques

· Ability to create and edit sales materials and presentations

· Ability to coordinate and organize meetings, exhibits, and other events

· Extensive experience in sales management and a strong working knowledge of motivation, training, appraisal and general supervisory skills

· Leadership ability and team building skills to effectively supervise staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments

· A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills

· Superior interpersonal skills, as well as strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its senior management

· Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, and customers

· High level of proficiency with 20-20 Design Software and Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word and Outlook

· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

· High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability

· Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures

· Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently

· Excellent time and project management skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
