Position: Mining Account Manager

The Role:

Location: Edmonton, with the requirement for candidates to travel to regions with significant mining industry presence (e.g., Fort McMurray, BC, Ontario, etc).

Responsibilities:

As an Account Manager at Fireball, you will be responsible for:

Daily Tasks:

  • Conducting lead generation activities specific to assigned accounts, including inquiries, visits, investigations, and calls.
  • Influencing, advising, and recommending solutions for client's fuel and lubrication needs.
  • Providing input to the Applications Engineering team for generating quotes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client needs.
  • Updating and maintaining customer relationship management (CRM) systems to track interactions and progress.
  • Participating in peer reviews to ensure quality and consistency in account management practices.

Weekly Activities:

  • Maintaining regular communication with key accounts to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns or opportunities.
  • Monitoring ongoing activities of existing projects and following up on sent quotes to drive conversions.
  • Influencing timelines and decisions related to strategic objectives with each account.
  • Cultivating and managing relationships with key vendors critical to customer success.

Monthly/Quarterly/Ongoing:

  • Evaluating the performance of past projects and conducting site visits and check-ins with key decision-makers.
  • Collaborating with customers to understand their business needs, help build budgets, and develop specifications for upcoming projects.
  • Representing Fireball at trade shows and networking events to connect with key account contacts and stakeholders.
  • Continuously seeking opportunities for self-improvement and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in account management, sales, or a related field, preferably within the mining industry.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and articulate technical concepts and solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a drive for continuous improvement and learning.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
  • Travel can be extensive at times. To be successful in this role, the expectation is that the account manager is visiting customers often located at remote mine sites.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driver’s abstract.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required.
