OGC Sales Engineer - Houston

We’re looking for an exceptional candidate to sell Spirax Sarco US products and services to Oil, Gas & Chemical customers based in Houston, Texas. This individual must have prior experience in consultative technical selling of industrial product to customers within the Oil, Gas & Chemical industrial space. This person will provide solutions using their expertise in energy management to increase production, meet sustainability goals, and improve operational safety for our customers. The goals and objectives of the role will be to increase Spirax Sarco US’s market share in the Oil, Gas, & Chemical industry through the sell of new and existing products and services, while meeting sales and profit margin goals.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

  • Support sales efforts by calling on end users and working closely to support our strategic distribution channel partners
  • Support and build relationships with customers through technical training, product support, and process evaluation for performance improvement.
  • Develop and monitor the business plan for individual sales territory through the use CRM and account planning
  • Generate sales and develop forecasting to project growth in the territory
  • Develop and execute specific activities that support the organization’s strategic goals and initiatives towards sustainability
  • Build customer relationships through consultative sales techniques and routine customer contact that will lead to repeat business in assigned territories.
  • Develop a list of target accounts
  • Determine sales potential of the companies, establishes priority accounts and develops action plans to penetrate the market which may include cold calling and other canvassing techniques.
  • Trains end users on Spirax Sarco products and services either informally or during formal presentations.
  • Ensures that customers receive accurate and timely quotations for products/services
  • Follows up with customers to ensure satisfaction with product/service and to identify needs for potential future business.

Candidates for this position should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field, with five years outside sales experience selling a technical or industrial related product line; or equivalent combination of education and experience. In lieu of sales experience, candidates with experience work directly for the Oil, Gas, & Chemical industry on steam and other energy applications will be considered. This can be candidates with process, mechanical, reliability, or project engineering experience with end users in the target industry. Experience in conducting “boardroom” style presentations and proficiency in current Microsoft Office tools and CRM business software preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license while meeting and complying with Spirax Sarco USA company driving policies.
