Position Summary:
PrimeWay has an exciting opportunity to join a growing commercial team focused on meeting the needs of business owners in the Community. The Business & Commercial Relationship Manager will be primarily responsible for generating and underwriting new commercial loans with a strong emphasis on deposit and treasury management services. This position will be responsible for originating conventional commercial loans while servicing an assigned portfolio of member businesses. This role requires consistent engagement for the Credit Union through involvement in the community along with working with local organizations and centers of influence.
Responsibilities:
- Originate, review, and underwrite commercial loan applications, including CRE, C&I, and Equipment loans
- Generating new SBA guaranteed loan products, primarily 7(a), 504, and SBA express loans following the Credit Unions loan policies and procedures
- Actively develop relationships to include deposit and treasury management services
- Review applications for eligibility and ensure new requests are consistent with policy guidelines
- Analyze and review credit information to make a general assessment of the applicant’s creditworthiness and determine if the loan will conform to the Credit Unions lending policy
- Exercises due diligence when underwriting loans, including assessing risks, real estate analysis, cash flow, profitability
- Prepare a written summary of loan terms and conditions and a written narrative explaining the business background, outline risk factors, and justify assigned risk rating
- Improve the condition of the loan portfolio by working to reduce delinquencies through improved collection and underwriting techniques
- Develop and maintain business relationships and referral sources throughout the community
- Seeks to expand Credit Union product usage to current customers by cross-selling all types of deposit accounts, loan accounts, and services during customer contacts and interviews
- Respond professionally and accurately to customers' internal partners' inquiries and concerns promptly
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills

Education and Experience
- College degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field 2-3 years experience in a credit analysis/underwriting role relative to commercial lending, required 5+ years of proven commercial lending experience required
ADA Requirements
- Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situations. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must becapable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
