We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager to drive growth, build client relationships, and serve as a technical expert for our customers in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors.


Position Summary:


The Technical Sales Manager for Pharmaceuticals & Life Sciences will be responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and managing relationships with clients in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. This role combines technical expertise with strategic sales acumen, focusing on understanding client needs, recommending solutions, and expanding our market presence. This individual will act as a trusted advisor, offering technical insights into our high-purity solvent products and guiding customers through complex purchasing decisions.


Essential Duties:


  • Client Relationship Management:
    Establish and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, ensuring exceptional service and support. Proactively engage with key accounts to understand their needs and identify growth opportunities.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Develop and execute a sales strategy focused on the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors. Meet or exceed sales targets by identifying and closing new business opportunities.
  • Technical Expertise and Support: Act as a technical consultant for clients, offering in-depth knowledge about our high-purity chemicals and their applications within pharmaceutical and life sciences. Assist customers with technical questions, product selection, and troubleshooting.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Participate in market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and customer needs. Use insights to drive business development strategies and to position our products effectively within the industry.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Quality, and Marketing teams to align on product development, regulatory compliance, and customer requirements. Provide feedback on market trends and customer feedback to inform product innovation.
  • Proposal and Contract Management: Prepare proposals, presentations, and contracts for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Lead negotiations and manage their respective sales pipeline.
  • Customer Training and Education: Organize and deliver training sessions, webinars, and workshops for customers on the applications and benefits of our high-purity chemicals in their respective fields.


Supervisory Responsibility:


This position does not have supervisory responsibility


Required Education and Experience:


  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of technical sales experience in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of high-purity chemicals and their applications within pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors.
  • Sales Skills: Proven track record in technical sales with the ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for varied audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address client challenges and recommend solutions.
  • Customer-Centric: A customer-focused mindset with a dedication to providing high levels of service and support.
  • Travel: Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
