Job Description:
Business Development Representative
Job Summary
A critical component of company operations, the Business Development Group processes prospects, quotes, and orders for our busy branches, and growing force of Outside Sales Reps. You learn to source, quote, and process the vast product line for our expanding customer base, develop new prospects and interact with existing customers to increase sales utilizing knowledge of core customers and Bolts Plus product line.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Processes orders, quote prices, enters orders into the system and provides order information to customers.
- Data entry and sourcing for product procurement.
- Communication with Department Lead, Outside Sales Reps, Branch Reps and vendors.
- Develops relationships and partnerships and establish Bolts Plus as a First Choice Supplier to our customers.
- Analyzes our market and champions sales initiatives to increase overall market share and profitability.
- Receive, research, and answer questions regarding accounts, products, rates and services offered, via telephone or in person.
- Manages sales volume with an existing group of customers, prospects successfully to expand the customer base
- Taking notes, answering phones, filing, organizing with an office setting.
- Forecasts, prospects, and bids for new business to include customers, markets, and additional service opportunities
- Maintains existing and builds new customer partnerships
- Develops and sustains sales relationships with key decision makers and influencers on all levels of an organization
- May conduct negotiations with suppliers, vendors and manufacturers
- Assists in training or mentoring of associates
Nature and Scope
Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information, inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data
Work review typically involves periodic review of output by supervisor and/or direct "customers" of the process
May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel or professional personnel

Minimum Qualification
Must be eighteen years of age
Education and Experience
- Post-Secondary Education, Diploma or Degree in Business or related field preferred
- Industry experience preferred, but we will train!

Preferred Qualifications
- Point of sales (POS) system or consultative selling/solution selling experience is required
- Knowledge of customer business needs
- Knowledge in Bolts Plus product line and core customers
- Wholesale distribution experience, specifically experience with Fasteners, an asset
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) with knowledge of Netsuite an asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 42.5 per week
