POSITION
Wedding & Catering Sales Manager
GENERAL
Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier, located on the waterfront of North Vancouver, is a 106-room full-service boutique hotel featuring 8,000 square feet of meeting and event space. We are looking for a Catering Sales Manager who must be a multi-faceted and driven to always exceed our guests’ expectations.
ROLE
Reporting to the Director of Sales & Catering, the Wedding & Catering Sales Manager is responsible for prospecting, selling and managing wedding and other social catering events from initial booking to completion and final billing.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Function as a member with the Catering Team to meet the business objectives of the Catering department.
- Up-sell the hotel’s services and products, suggesting suitable events, activities, floor plans and menus.
- Proactively seek out new and potential clients for future bookings, along with maintaining relationships with current clients.
- Work closely with the client throughout the duration of the event, ensuring successful outcome from arrival to departure.
- Work with clients to coordinate food and beverage content and requirements throughout the planning stages and site inspections, when requested.
- Organize events effectively with an acute sense of detail and ability to anticipate our client’s needs.
- Conduct site inspections and assist with walk-in inquiries and requests.
- Prepare accurate contracts in a timely fashion for client approval and signature.
- Prepare concise Banquet Event Orders, floor plans and event resumes for distribution.
- Liaise with accounting department on accurate customer billing, credit applications, and deposits, etc.
- Prepare reports as required.
- Fulfill other focuses within the Sales Department.
- Ensure all wedding events are executed correctly.
- Other duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum three years in a sales or similar role within the hospitality industry
- Minimum two years' catering or wedding events management experience in a similar environment.
- Experienced and knowledgeable of handling large catering events would be an asset.
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel Sales or Events Management or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of hospitality systems and software .
- Demonstrated advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $67,000.00 per year

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
